Nutritionist POSITION TITTLE: Nutritionist PROGRAM: Food & Wellness SUPERVISOR: Director of Food and Wellness PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB The Nutritionist, will oversee all aspects of CentroNía’s Food & Wellness Department (F&W) by designing and implementing healthy menus and nutrition education to children families and staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Nutrition and Menu Planning Develops cost-effective menus that maintain nutrition integrity and meet all organizational, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. Assesses nutritional preferences, industry trends, and current research to plan menus that encourage the consumption of local and fresh produce. Works with staff, teachers, parents and the kitchen staff to plan menus for children with special nutritional needs. Nutrition Education Develops and implements a comprehensive nutrition education programs for adults and children for CentroNía and the community. Establishes role of F&W as a resource for expertise in the development and presentation of nutrition education materials and activities. Compliance Communicates program information to encourage and secure support for the food and nutrition program from OSSE, administrators, faculty, parents, and community. Implements a plan for providing foodservice to other centers fallowing USDA regulations Sanitation, Food Safety, and Employee Safety Ensure procedures for food to be prepared, packed, delivery and serve in a sanitary and safe environment.

Food Production • Develops procedures to ensure the food production system provides safe nutritious food of

high quality. • Ensures operational procedures for record keeping of food production, distribution and

invoicing. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 1-3 years of experience working with health and nutrition, preferably in an education setting. REQUIRED EDUCATION BA in Nutrition, Food Services or related.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION DC Nutritionist License strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Office located within a community-based organization with a safe, stable and healthy environment. CentroNía has a very diverse staff, and Spanish/English bilingualism is essential to conduct business and serve clients.
