Assignment Description• Description: You will be working on a group project (2-3 in a group). Your

group will be assigned a nutrition topic to explore. Each group member will be responsible for looking at the topic from one of three perspectives:

Physical/Mental:How will this topic affect your body’s appearance? Is it healthy? Can it impact you mentally also? How might it affect your behaviors & decisions? Did you come across any interesting facts or statistics?

Social:How does this topic affect relationships between your friends & family? How may you treat them? How may they look at you? Does it impact your school day? How might you help talk to a friend about the dangers?

Cultural: How much media coverage does your topic get? How is it portrayed? How do you think teens interpret the messages? Can you share any “real world” examples of people affected by this topic (in media or your life)?

Your ProductsYour creation(s): After you gather the information, your group must create and present the information to the class.

Using your research (physical/mental, social, cultural), each group member will create a “mini-Power Point” (at least 3 slides, with pictures).

Eventually, those “mini-Power Points” will be combined to form a “Group Power Point” that will be shared to the class (10 minute presentation explaining topic/Power Point).

Lastly, your group is responsible for combining information to create a Flyer or Newsletter (one for each student in the class) to accompany your presentation.
