Methodology:Chicago Public Schools released a Request for Proposals for new charters schools on August 13, 2013. CPSidentified the following 9 priority areas for charter expansion of elementary schools: Albany Irving, Ashburn,Belmont Cragin (North of Grand Ave.), Chicago Lawn (West of Kedzie), MicKinley Park, Midway (South of 51 st St.),Little Village (West of Western Ave.), Reed-Dunning, and Sauganash. For high school expansion CPS identified thefollowing boundaries: S outhwest Side (bounded by the area west of Western Avenue, South of the StevensonExpressway, and the city limits), and Northwest Side (bounded by the area beginning at Fullerton and the westerncity limit, east to Western, and north to the city limit). i On January 22, the Board of Education will be voting on 22new charter campuses listed below. The agenda includes the locations that the charter operators have identified fortheir new buildings. Only 2 of 22 sites (9%) have confirmed locations that fall within CPS priority areas ii:
