10 SNE-TP General Assembly, 29.11.2011 Grzegorz Wrochna
Scientific groups from IFJ PAN contribute to major world experiments in particle, astroparticle and nuclear physics. New 235 MeV cyclotron (planned start 2013) will be used for experimental activities (nuclear physics, radiobiology) and proton therapy. Gantry will allow also for treating pediatric patients (2014). Biomedical research based on local infrastructure: eye protontherapy, VdG single proton irradiations, MRI Priorities for safely use of nuclear energy and for fusion projects (ITER, stellarator W7-X in Greifswald) Accredited labs specialized in nuclear techniques Specialized teams of engineers and technicians participating in construction of large research facilities for science in Europe
