INTERNET & SOCIAL MEDIA SAFETY Parents are reminded to be vigilant about internet and social media safety for their children at home. Children can be especially vulnerable to cyber bullying when online. “Cyber- bullying involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behaviour by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others". Children need to be aware that messages posted online will remain as a digital footprint forever even if deleted. Safety Rules for ChildrenWhat to do if it happens? 1. We welcomed our incoming 2019 Junior Infant pupils and their parents to the school on Wednesday 12h June .The incoming infants and their parents visited their junior infant classroom, met with their new teacher and enjoyed some infant activities on the day.

We are encouraging all our children to continue to read as much as they can over the summer months and are pleased to inform you that Dublin City Libraries are offering children the chance to take part in their Reading Adventure 31st 2019. Dublin City Libraries are offering incentives like wristbands, notebooks, pencil cases as well as the chance to win a Smythlibrary. Each child that finishes the Summer Stars Reading Challenge will receive a medal and a certificate at a special event at the end of the summer. This year Dublin City library will also have a summer programme of free events for families and children, details can be found at http://www.dublincitylibraries.ie

Summer Camp St. Fiachra’s JS Summer Camp will take place from 1st—5th and 8th—12th July. This camp is organised by teacher Ms McCorry and runs from 9am—1.30pm .

Camp costs €60 with a €10 discount for siblings.

BOOK LISTS By now your child has received his/her booklist for September 2019. If for any reason your child has not received the booklist please contact the school office. Section B payments: As part of our commitment to improve efficiency and security in the school, we are moving towards the Komeer Payments service.. Cheques & Cash will be accepted also.

Trócaire On behalf of Trócaire and the communities they work with we would like to thank you for your generosity. The sum of €2188 was collected from our school . This money will make a positive and lasting difference to the

lives of so many families and communities who are living in

poverty overseas .

Green School Committee We say goodbye & thank you to our outgoing green school committee for all their hard work in keeping our school green and clean and continuing to help our environment.
