WELCOME

National Service SchemeIntroduction-The National Service Scheme is an Indian Government sponsored public service programme coducted by the department of youth affairs & sports of the Govt. of India popularly known as NSS.The scheme was launched in Gandhi jis century year,1969.And it developing students personality through community services.NSS is a volunteer association of young people in college,Universities & +2 level working for campus community linkage.The cardinal principal of NSS is that it is organized by the students themselves & both students and teachers through their combined participation in community services.It is a sense of environment in the tasks of nation building.

NEED OF NSSAfter indepdence the university grand commission headed by S.Radha Krishnan recommended the introduction of voluntury National Service in academic institutions.This idea was taken considered by the Central Advisory Board of Education(CBSE) of its meeting in January 1950 after examine the idea & the experince of oter country in this field.The Board recommended that students and teachers should devote time to voluntury Mannual Work.In draft first five years plan adopted by the Government in 1952,they need for social and labour service by Indian students for one year was stressed.In 1958,Jawaharlal Nehru in a letter to C.M.s considered the idea of social services as a pre-requisite for graduation.He directed the ministry of education to formulate a suitable scheme for theintroduction of National Service into academic institutions.

LAUNCH OF NSSIn May 1969,a conference of student representation(of universities or institutions of higher education) convened by the Ministry of education and the university grants commissions also agreed that NSS woulde\ be an instrument for National integration.On 24th Sept 1969,Union Education Minister VKRV Rao launch the NSS at 37 Universities in all states.

AIM OF NSS-The program aims to include social welfare in students and to provide service without bias NSS volunteer work to insure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity ; In doing to volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life. Despite a scarcity of resources; It also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food clothing and first aid to the disaster victim.

Drafting of SchemeIn 1959; the draft outline of their scheme was placed before a conference of state Education Minister . The conference agreed on the urgent need for a workable scheme for national service and suggested the appointment of a community to workout details of the proposed object of project .

InitiationThe Education commission [headed by D.S Party] recommended that students at every stage of commission should be associated with same form of social service . This was taken in to account by the state education minister s during their April 1967 conference they recommended that universities students could join the National Service Scheme.

SymbolThe symbol for the NSS has been based on the giant Rath wheel of the world famous Konark sun temple(the black pagoda ) situated in Orissa, India. The wheel portrays the cycle of creation ,preservation and release and signifies the movement in life across time and space , The symbol thus stand for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social change.

Motto of Nss[ NOT ME , NOT YOU ,BUT WE] This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need selfness service and appreciation of the others persons points of view and also show consideration for the fellow human beings .It unless that the welfare of at society on the whole . Therefore it should be the Aim of the NSS to demonstrate this motto in its day to day program .Not Me, Not You,But we.

Objectives of NSS schemeUnderstand the community in which they weak.Understand themselves in relation to their community.Identify the needs and problems of the community 2nd envolve them problem solving process .Develop among themselves essence of facial and civil responsibility.Utilise their knowledge in finding practical solution .Acquire leadership qualities .Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disaster.

6.Vehicle rally-TO PROMOTE THE MESSAGE OF TRESS PLANTTION WE HELD A VEHICLE RALLY.
