Transcript of NSBE E-Board Positions
To increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
All E-board members are expected to attend GBM and E-board Meetings
Email accounts established with google drive documents loaded
Archives of past meetings, activities, budget calculations, etc.
Support from current E-board members as well as faculty advisors
Connection with E-board members from other universities within the region
Provides the overall vision of the org for the specified year
Prepare and conduct executive board meetings
Oversee General Body Meetings
Must represent and advocate the organization at both on campus and off campus events, ex. Networking events, rep your org day, engineering block party, conferences, etc.
Participate in Regional Conference Calls and submit monthly reports to the Region 3 chair
In charge of organizing general body meetings, room reservations, meeting outlines, speaker accommodations etc.
Develop and evaluate programs in conjunction with committee chairs
Work with the president to complete monthly reports
Work with the other CEB to finalize a calendar for the year
Preside over executive board in absence of the president
Take accurate minutes at each general and executive board meeting
Responsible for all correspondence
Provide all correspondence to president and appropriate CEB members
Copy and file all correspondence
Keep attendance at general and executive board meetings
Assist in agenda preparation
Maintain organization's financial accounts
Determine, along with the CEB, the allocation of NSBE funds
Work with finance chair to plan fundraising activities
Submit monthly financial report to CEB and regional treasurer
Responsible for the annual A&S Budgets
Be familiar with the chapters governing documents
Be familiar with the national societies governing documents
Report to the Regional Parliamentarian through emails and conference calls
Attend both Fall Regional Conference and National Convention. And sign in at all mandatory senator events
Vote on behalf of the chapter at FRC and Nationals
Coordinate social and service projects, specifically: Engineering Expo Urban Scholars Engineering Block Party SOS Rep your Org Day
Coordinate interaction with other organizations
Maintain the locker space in the Marshal Center
Organize and oversee (along with the CEB) the planning for all annual events
sponsored by the chapter, manage main operations and logistics of events,
and create timelines for events
Shall work with all other executive board members to have successful events
Develop at least a 7 member committee to assist in duties where necessary
Work out a budget for RLC, FRC, and National Convention
Make the necessary reservations for the conferences, if necessary contact Conference Planning Chairs from neighboring universities for travel arrangements
Prepare the Travel expense request document to be submitted to Student Government
Assist pre-college students by assisting chapters to provide
tutoring, mentoring and other supportive services.
Coordinate chartering of NSBE Jr. chapters
Co0rdinate and oversee chapter PCI events locally and when
necessary regionally or nationally.
Evaluate regularly the effectiveness of the chapter’s various PCI
programs.
Shall perform the duties as designated by the Chapter President
Maintain chapter homepage - update weekly as needed Work with the HYPE center to design and print
posters, flyers, and ads Coordinates with members the distribution of
flyers, posters and promotional events Chairs subcommittee that produces flyers,
posters, ads, paper/vinyl banners and other promotional items for events (i.e. newsletters, brochures, bulletins)
Plan weekly study jams Plan review sessions as requested by members, or
before exams of known engineering weed out courses Coordinate members to connect the people who have
already taken classes with the people currently taking classes
A long term goal would be to make test bank of past exams
Promote attendance and participation in NSBE Academic Excellence tiers
Refer members to academic and career counseling
Maintain volunteer database of contact information and mobilize volunteers, as appropriate, according to current needs within the community
Maintain list of contacts within community organizations and non-profits for fulfilling the chapter’s community outreach events
Collaborate with the PCI, Programs chair and other officers when hosting or participating in community events
Works with treasurer to develop and deliver corporate sponsorship packets
Works with VP to compile and distribute resume book Document and maintain all information on current
and potential sponsors Generate "thank you" notes and all other pertinent
correspondence concerning corporate sponsors and advisory board members
Provide secretary with copies of all correspondence Solicit, develop, and implement fundraising ideas Reports to and works closely with the treasurer
Keep a record of member activity Work with VP to plan activates and
workshops for GBM Plan social events for members to get
involved in

present activities of the chapter. Develops scrap book and slide/video show to
be used in participant recruitment and closing events Compiles all appropriate pictures, printed
materials and promotional items for sponsor thank you packet and promotional packet
