You are certainly aware of the fact that, Mahatma Gandhi NREG Act stipulates paymentof compensation to the wage seekers whose payment could not be completed within '15

days from the date of closure of muster rolls. ln a recent judgment delivered by theHon'ble Supreme Court of lndia, the issue of payment of compensation has again beenre-iterated. Under the circumstances there are instructions from Ministry of RuralDevelopment, Government of lndia to pay compensation to all the wage seekers whosepayment has been delayed beyond 15 days in the current financial year.

Detailed'report on compensation payable, GP-wise, Block-wise and District-wise areavailable in MlS. Even wage seeker-wise list can be generated. Accordingly, thefollowing directions are issued from this end:

1. Ensure generation of FTOs within 6 days from the date of closure of muster rolls.lf there is any gap in FTO generation the defaulters are to be identified andsuitably warned against such defaults.

2. ln case of all pending wages for the current year as of now, initiate the process ofpayment of compensation directly by generating FTOs from the e-FMS accountmaintained at state level. Accounts of such payments, however, must beappropriately monitored so that suitable arrangements for replenishing the SEGFwith such compensation amount can be made,

The entire process has to be completed by 30th June, 2016 and from Jirly, 2016onwards the responsibili$ for paying compensation will squarely fall upcn the plA.
