Please nominate me to connue as your representave on the Naonal Policy Forum

Over the past een months, I have been privileged to represent London members on the Naonal Policy Forum.

As your representave, I have passed on your views on the process and our policies and aended numerous local

Labour Party meengs to talk about policy and Refounding Labour. I have also enjoyed coming out on the doorstep

across London as a GLA list candidate and hope to meet many more members while campaigning in the next fewmonths in the run up to the elecons in May.

As your NPF rep, I have made sure that as many members as possible are aware of opportunies to take part in

policy discussion and consultaons. I have sent updates and a regular newsleer and formal Party consultaon

documents to constuency ocers and councillors in London as well as to acvists who have signed up to my

newsleer. There are sll problems with the process and members need representaves who believe that

members should be at the heart of our consultaon process and who highlight ways you can get involved.

Please nominate me to connue to represent you on the Naonal Policy Forum. Nominaons close at the end of

March but due to the fact meengs will be suspended from the end of February to allow members to focus on the

London elecons, please ensure your constuency considers

nominaons by the end of February.

If re-elected to the NPF, I will connue to focus on pushing for a

stronger voice for members in London. Thank you.

Following Annual Conference, a series of updates on the

Fresh polics: fresh ideas consultaon was published.

The documents are available on the fresh ideas website:hp://fresh-ideas.orguk/annual-conference-2011-documentsIt wasnt inially clear how local pares could engage with

the consultaon going forward and following pressure from

Naonal Policy Forum representaves, a series of discussion

documents were published recently on the site with

suggested quesons for discussion. Please take part and

encourage your local party and members to get involved to

shape the next stage of the policy development.

    Haveyoursay!Throughout the past year, policy

commissions made up of members of theNaonal Policy Forum and shadow

ministerial teams have met to consider

future policies. An update on the work of

the commissions made to the Joint Policy

Commission is aached to the email

version of this newsleer. Please let me

know if you would like a copy.Policy Commissions have also looked at

submissions made to the party on a range

of issues. Of concern is the low number of

submissions currently being made by local

pares and members. I have raised this

with Michael Cashman MEP, NEC Chair, and

believe this to be due to the current lack of

clarity over how to get involved.
