Dear Parents / Carers
It’s been so nice at NHPS this last week with the sun finally
shining. It seems that Spring has arrived and things are warming
up (just in time for the holidays). The teachers are reminding all
students that if they do not have a school hat then they must
stay under the weather shed. Could you please assist your
children in taking on responsibility for bringing their school hat
every day.
What a great success Footy Colours Day was last Friday.
Everyone looked fantastic in the colours of their favourite
sporting team and the SRC raised $163.00 for Kids Cancer
research. The highlight of the day though was the teachers
triumphing 2-1 over the Year 6 students in the touch footy
game. We celebrated over the weekend with a few scrapes,
bruises and sore muscles but it was totally worth it. Better luck
next time kids!
Today we had a visiting performance at our school from “The
King and Queen of Green”. The show came with an important
message about the simple things we can all do to reduce the
amount of single use plastic ending up in the waste stream and
eventually the ocean. When you get a chance please have a
chat with your children about this important message and ask
them what they learnt from the show.
This Friday’s assembly will be the last for this term. Please come
along for both the 3/4B item as well as the inaugural
performance by the new School Band. The band is being
taught and conducted by Ryley Gillen, an ex-student of NHPS
who now works as a professional musician.
