Why do we sing the songs we sing? At College Wesleyan Church we seek to use songs to tell the story of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—to reveal his nature and respond to him. The following infograph off ers a lens that enhances our understanding of the songs we sing.

CHRIST THE KING SUNDAY • NOVEMBER 24Join us for family-friendly worship services on Christ the King Sunday.
There will be no SPLASH or JCB, as we invite families to worship together. Nursery – 3-yr-old classrooms will remain open for childcare if needed.
We all have things which we prefer adjusted or at least we want taken into account by others in our daily lives. A few examples: the temperature when sleeping, the sound of others chewing ice, the dislike or sensitivity to fluorescent lights, dislike being touched or tapped, the aversion to loud areas, all of the chairs in a straight row, hating certain smells, needing to stick to a schedule, or there being too many people in a room. In most cases, none of these situations are a physical need for your survival, yet we still find ourselves greatly affected by them. What are some of your own? Take a moment to write some down. How have you reacted when the setting didn’t fit your needs or preferences? While it’s easier to notice the particularities of others, being aware of your own leads to becoming more empathetic with others.
At CWC, we strive to empower and be empowered by our brothers and sisters with special needs.

Unless marked for Staff & Elders only, prayer requests are shared with the College Church family. Please indicate private prayer requests by marking the Staff & Elder only on your Connect Card.
If you would like to be part of the Prayer Team which receives prayer requests via email, send a message to Pastor Alex ([email protected]). Also, if you do not have email and would like to receive a paper copy of weekly requests, stop by or call the church office.
Prayer Requests:• Suzanne Vardaman had surgery last week to correct a lingering problem in
a knee tendon. All went well. Pray for healing in her recovery.
• Cindy Pattengale requested prayer for the mother of her former Kids Hope kid, Amber Chasteen, who has pancreatitis and has been hospitalized twice. It is very painful and is keeping her from working. Please pray she can get relief and that God would provide for her and her family during this time of not working. Also, six weeks ago, friends of the Pattengales adopted a little girl from China named Zion. She had surgery on Tuesday to remove a large tumor found on her liver. The Pattengales' friends, Michael & Lauren McAfee, are asking that you would join them in praying that Zion won't need follow-up chemotherapy, and that the cancer would not return.
• Tony (Debby) Mack had a cardio conversion (a procedure to restore the heart to a normal rhythm) on Monday. The procedure was successful: his heart is back in rhythm.
• The Metz Family. Maylin was taken to Cincinnati Children's this last weekend to have her feeding tube exchanged. They are home now but are still experiencing some GI issues. Please hold this family in prayer.

Making More & Better DisciplesWe are blessed to be adjacent to the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University and consider it a gift to be part of raising up students for leadership in the world. We are excited by the numbers of students from both IWU and Taylor University who worship with us each Sunday, who serve in ministry with us and are part of Spiritual Formation groups. As a sending church, our Ministry Development Program (MDP) continues to equip and send out leaders into youth ministry, denominational headquarters, church revitalization and other ministry areas.
Transforming the CommunityWith more than 300 commissioned “shepherds,” we are committed to influencing our neighborhoods, workplaces, and homes with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. We seek to develop strong and healthy families which aid in the revitalization of our community.
Resourcing the ChurchIn building partnerships with other churches, we have opportunity to influence, serve, and lead beyond our own congregation. These partnerships inspire and produce events, curriculum, and services that promote a nurturing ministry and revitalization of smaller local churches.
For a complete listing of staff & resident pastors, visit the CWC website, “Meet the Team”.

For the most part, Christians know what God asks of them, but feel ill-equipped to oblige, explaining their shortfall as “being human.” In this passage, God makes clear that He has already given us everything we need for living the godly life.
