WHAT DID YOU
DO?
As a productive citizen of the United States of American did you do your part to elect the best person for the job to lead us in a racial divided country, we do have major problems and some of us still can not see that we are not working
together, and a few have no intention to do what the law say. After years of hard work to make the playing field level, there are some of us who think like they have forgotten that is the year 2012 and you have that right and it is your duty to go and vote.Did you try to encourage at least one person to be a blessing and help get one voter to the polls, each one vote count.A lot of work was put forth just to have this day called history making, record number of voters going to cast his or her precious vote when it count the most.
Happy VotingMr. Ray Williams

Are your ready for love and an everlasting relationship? Before you dive headfirst into shallow water and break your neck, test yourself first to see if you’re REALLY prepared. Satan steals love more than any other one thing, so be sure your relationship is secured in God’s love before a commitment is made. It is humanly impossible to fall in love! We fall in love with the eruption of our emotions, but not with the other person, which is not the true essence of love. Falling for this mockery takes us on a roller coaster ride that has an abrupt and painful ending, which is a very foolish undertaking. When we are delivered into the hands of emotional
discord, love is removed in exchange for fear, distrust, unfaithfulness
and regret; and we are left to dwell in the earthshaking tempest of our deluge. Infatuation is indeed and electrifying feeling, but it cannot endure the pressures of the world for any length of time. For it’s merely an emotion and emotions are not reality, because they quickly change. Impetuously, they take us to the highs of exhilaration, then drop us to the lowest of lows of depression. This emotional, inflaming state of infatuation will change from excitement, hope, happiness and perceived love, to fear, anger and grief. It will leave you confused, bitter and defeated. Love is not an emotion, it’s a commitment! If you are determined to make a lifelong commitment and cast down everything that interferes, then perhaps you are ready to walk through the doors of love. Until then,
save yourself the agony of defeat. Taking responsibility for the course of action that love demands of us, only then is love able to grow. And the longer a commitment is preserved, the stronger and more enduring the bond becomes. Commitment locks and secures our relationships together, so love cannot fail or resist. It locks out everything that would prevent love from rooting and growing, which provides security, trust and loving affection. If you’re not absolutely sure, stand still! Don’t jump into anything suddenly or rashly. Move slowly, at a gradual pace, or you may find yourself buried in a lifetime of agony and defeat. Therefore I urge you to walk slowly in your search for love and let God walk beside you. For He said, “I (the Lord) will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go: I will counsel you with My eyes upon you.” (Psalm 32:8)
For nearly four years I have been praying for the re-election of President Barack Obama.
He has been a good president. He has tried his best and he has done a good job for our nation.
When he was elected to the office of the presidency we were near an economic collapse.
President Obama’s polices brought us back from the verge of an economic collapse.
He decided to save the automobile industry and ensured that thousands of
men and women kept their jobs.
It should be remembered that the president’s opponent in the election, Mitt Romney, wanted to push the automobile industry off the edge of the earth. He suggested that the industry be placed into bankruptcy. Did he have any idea just how many people would be put out of work?
Of course he did. The problem is that he did not have any respect for people unlike himself who had tax havens around the world. He thought and still thinks that only people of wealth and privilege have the sense to run the world.
Perhaps this election has taught Mr. Romney a lesson. Perhaps he has learned that
money is not the ruler of all things. Perhaps he has learned that there are people in this country who do respect dignity more than they respect greed.
The voters of this country, men, women, children, black, white, brown and red re-elected President Obama. No group of people did it by themselves.
Now, we must all work together and bring about a climate of fairness and justice where everyone has a chance and everyone is treated with dignity.
President Obama is the person who can lead us down this path. President Obama has been a blessing for this nation. Now, this nation can be a true blessing for the world.

The people have spoken and our President Barack Obama has been returned to the White House.
And I want to thank each of you who voted for our beloved national leader.
Mr. Obama has been an exemplary President during the past four years and deserved the support of people of goodwill and decency.
Decent Americans came together during the election and voted against big money and big thieves.
Now the president has the opportunity to appoint two and perhaps three justices to the United States Supreme Court.
He will appoint jurists on the federal levels and will impact the history of the United States for the next five decades.
Mr. Obama, without compromise, took his case to the people of the United States. He said that those who earned more should pay a greater share of their income towards the national budget and he said that women should receive salaries equal to those received by men in their places of work.
Once again the world has watched as America elected a minority president. It says something to people around the world who are looking at this country as a beacon of light.
This country has moved forward again and there is nothing that the Karl Roves in life can do about it.
To his credit, George Bush has not been an Obama hater.
He remained silent during this election and refused to participate in the race baiting and verbal violence that has controlled the mouths of so many of the Republican politicians.
Now that Mr. Obama has been re-elected perhaps some of those who oppose Mr. Obama will place the political bickering aside and get about the business of governing.
The President has proven that he is not a petty man.
He has proven that he is tough and that he is ready for a dog fight if necessary.
All of us who supported him need to be proud of what we accomplished. Now we must work to support our President and his agenda.
Thank you America

MINISTER OF THE WEEK
CHURCH WOMAN OF THE WEEK
C.M. DeCuir Bon Air Baptist Church
Dear Dr. Hollie:I am a 29-year-old woman. I have never been married and I have no kids. I’ve dated a lot of guys, but none that even came close to love and marriage. So, I may be too old to have these new feelings and asking what I am about to ask you, but I have to try. There is this minister at my church that I have a major crush on. He is 33. He, too, has never been married and has no kids. Of course, all the single women are constantly throwing themselves at him. He has not gone out with anyone from the church that I know of. When I asked about him, I was told he is focused on his ministry right now that is why he is not dating. I admire that also. My question is how do I get him to know that I am interested in him without coming
off desperate like I’ve seen some women do? I want him to know that I am willing to wait until he is ready, but just keep me in mind when he is ready. I would like to relay this full message to him without using any of those words. Do you have any advice for me?
I Could Be Mrs. Right
Dear Mrs. Right.I believe you are already doing the right thing to get yourself noticed, and that is not throwing yourself on or at him. Afford him the opportunity to do just what he says he needs to do; and I advise you to do the same. Keep your mind focused on your ministry. I would assume that you all are meeting in ministerial classes at your church, so that gives him the opportunity to see and know who you are. If you truly are Mrs. Right, he will find you. “Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD” (Proverbs 18:22).Dr. Hollie is a Pastor and practicing psychotherapist in the city. Jesus taught his followers to pray. This model prayer is recorded in the 6th chapter of Matthew. Ultimately all believers have become students of this school of prayer. However, no one can, in this life, pass beyond the Kindergarten class of prayer. There are no Bachelors, Masters nor Doctors degree of prayer. We will forever have a lot to learn about prayer. “Maybe people believe in the power of prayer, but few pray.” Sidlow Baxter said “Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers.” Remember this “ A day without prayer is a day with blessings, and a life without prayer is a life without power.”

He Can Turn Your Dead End Into A Finish Line
By Henry Nelson
1 Corinthians 9:24-27”Do you not know that in a race all
the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.
No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
I do not know if you have ever been depressed. Situations all around you just seem to wrong.
When it seems as though everything and everybody has turned their back on you. You got a past due notice on every bill.
You have to through your bills and the air and whichever lands face up is the one getting paid. You pray before you go to the ATM machine that it does not snatch up your card and
shred it to pieces. You try to use your credit card but
the clerk tells you that she has got to confiscate it.
Have you ever put seventy five dollars in the bank just so you could have nothing?
Your bank account was so negative that you put just enough money to bring your account to a zero balance. Your children got kicked out of school or locked up.
You have been out looking for a job for months and it seems like when you walk up they take down the now hiring sign. It seems as though you just cannot get a break.
It seems as though you have come to the end of your rope and run into a brick wall. I have been depressed to the point where I thought that I would take my own life.
I could have been dead and gone, but do you know you cannot check out of here until you fulfill the master’s plan. I am here to tell you today that GOD is able to turn your dead end into a finish line. Amen!
There is a pre-requisite. The bible
tells us that if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from there wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven.
Over in Ezekiel 33rd chapter the bible gives us warning and promises. The warning is thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, if he does not turn from it, if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou have delivered thy soul. Amen!
The promise Ezekiel gives us the promise that if the wicked restore the pledge to God walk in the statues of life without committing iniquity he shall surely live.
1st Corinthians was written by Paul to the Church in Corinth and Christians everywhere. It was written sometime about 55 A.D. during his three year visit to Ephesus Corinth and Ephesus faced each other across the Aegean Sea.
The Church as Corinth was going through the same
struggles that the Church and our government are going through today.
They were struggling with their social environment. Sin and corruption on every hand and they felt the pressures to adapt.
Churches today are feeling the pressure to adapts to the world, but the bible says be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. Amen!

By Joseph Green-BishopIt is not quite 3 pm on November 6th in the central United States. The national polls, depending on where you live in the country, will not close for hours. Yet, I am making a bold prediction that President Barack Obama has won and those of us who worked for his re-election bid will be emboldened tonight knowing that an agenda that we believed in and supported will be pursued for another four years. Mr. Obama has been a wonderful President. He has served the nation without the presence of a personal or national scandal. His policies prevented the nation from falling into a second economic depression, his first piece of legislation guaranteed women equal pay for equal work, he appointed two women to the United States Supreme Court, he saved America’s automobile industry, he supervised the destruction of the madmen called Al Qaeda, he
eliminated the fear among some young men and women, of being swept from their beds at night and returned to countries that were foreign to them, he established an agency that protects consumers from voracious lenders and creditors, he gave hope to so many of us whose spirits had been dimmed and nearly darkened and he insisted that capital growth be fair and equitable.
There is much more that he did but so little space to write all of his accomplishments. Of course, his policies were not accepted by all. This is a Democracy and people have the right to oppose those with whom they disagree. Yet, some of those who are against our President oppose him not because of what he has promulgated, but simply because of who he is and what they think of his origins. For the past four years, I have watched them and pitied them. No matter what one thinks of Mr. Obama and no matter how they voted or will vote, one thing is for certain. America will never be the same again because President Barack Obama was, in fact, elected President of the United States. And today you have young boys and girls from all types of backgrounds who believe that they can accomplish what Mr. Obama accomplished and more.
“Forward” has become their call to battle and they will never be deterred. And unlike some of us who believed that we would never see a person with dark skin live in the White House as the President of the United States, they believe that an Hispanic will one day be President, an Asian will one day be president, a woman will one day be president, an agnostic will one day be president, a homosexual will one day be President and a homeless person will one day be President. This nation owes Barack Obama, Michelle and their children much more than a pension. It owes them a debt of gratitude for four splendid years of service. And hopefully, once all the ballots are counted, four more years.

NFL Rookies
Man it seems like the young professional ball players are getting better with every draft class, Every year it seems as if some rookie steps onto the NFL scene and goes far beyond expectations.
This year the NFL has been treated to several outstanding performances by 3 players that I must tell you about.
Let’s look at what might be the top
3 performances of the season so far. Obviously, much has been made about the 5 rookie quarterbacks that started opening week- and for good reason. Some of these players made the cut and some of them didn’t.
Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck are on the list, Luck is coming off a record-setting performance and Griffin exploded on the scene back in week 1. The last two weeks RGIII has looked more human as teams study was to stop him.
Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin, set a team record by becoming the first running back in team history to rush for 4 touchdowns in a single game,
Ryan Tannehill is showing people in the football world he can play. The lost to the Cardinals against the moment he arrived as a viable NFL quarterback. Yes he still has some growing to do, but passing for over 400 yards against an Arizona shut down Tom Brady and Michael Vick is really impressive.
The Rookies are surprising a few people but a couple of veterans are still doing it well! Matt Ryan and Payton Manning are looking like MVP candidates. There is little to no significant statistical separation between Manning or Ryan. They have both been lights out good. Ryan has posted a 103 quarterback rating
based upon his 68.9 completion percentage.Ryan has 2,360 yards, 17 touchdowns and only 7 turnovers. While those numbers are impressive, Manning is somewhat better than Ryan with a 69.5 completion percentage, 2404 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 7 turnovers for a quarterback rating of 106.9.
In order to determine a players value, you have to look at the players surrounding him. If a quarterback has a lot of playmakers then his value has to go down. It doesn’t mean the player isn’t great, it just means that not as much of him was needed and his presence was less valuable.
The Falcons have held opponents to 17.9 points per game, but they have one of the easiest schedules in the league. That stat shows that lack of competition has to be considered.
The Broncos defense has not been what you call “ lights out”. This defense is allowing 21.9 points per game. The Broncos are not for behind, but considering the more difficult competition the odds might just favor Manning.
May God Bless Us and Help Us Change the World!!!

If you were president, what changes would you make?
Fairy Street Mama
Since this is an election year, I wanted to ask the question, “If you were president, what type of changes would you make? I found a young man that says he would make changes right away. “If I was president, I would make the world come together. I would have a law that schools would only have classes for six (6) hours a day too. I would like to see more jobs available especially for those that sleep on the streets. If I were president, I would like to see kids playing more educational games so they can learn more. I think President Obama is a good president but if I was president, I would make a lot of changes.” Anthony Jones, II 10 yrs old – 5th grade
Fairy: I hear you President Jones! Children don’t
realize yet what it takes to make laws and/or changes. You have to admit Anthony has some great ideas. I agree with the saying “Kids are our future.” We must support them and make sure that they make the right decisions. Don’t forget to vote for Anthony he becomes president!
Fairy Street Mama: “What Activity do you participate in and why?”
Parents & Grandparents (myself included) love to see our off-springs participate in the band, speech, judo, sports, praise dance, drill team, mime, tap, choir, debate, chess……..Whew! The list goes on and on! The point is…we love our kids and we want to make sure they grow up to be, well - educated adults. I spoke with a few kids in an effort to find out what makes them remain active and interested in their particular activity? I
got some good answers and this young man stood out! ”I play football! Participating in sports affects my life because I know that one day football will change my life! Maybe I’ll even get a chance to go to the NFL! I would want to help my family if I go to the pro’s. Playing football really does motivate me! Playing football also helps to keep me in shape physically. My parents will only let me play if I’m making good grades. I’m working hard to make sure that I continue making good grades and I don’t have discipline problems. I really thank my parents and grandparents for encouraging me to keep playing football and James Foster, IV supporting me when I have games! I love my family and I thank them for helping me to become 12 yrs old–6th grade the man that will make them proud.” Fairy: I’m sure your family is already proud of you James! Keep up the great work! I pray that all kids find a activity that you enjoy. Remember to play safe and play fair. Do your best in all that you do. The late Dr. Gordon told me to “Put God first in your life and you’ll always be a success!”

By Lorie Blair It was a wonderful morning. The weather was exceptionally warm for the first Sunday in November. Wasn’t in a rush to get anywhere and I had wonderful company, my best friend. We
were just enjoying ourselves when we found ourselves at La Calle Doce in Oak Cliff, one of his favorite eating locations. La Calle Doce is translated to The Twelve Street in English. Cute, since it is on 12th Street. This restaurant is family owned and we were at the original location. This location is a converted house that has lots of personality and a wonderful location to have private functions. There is patio seating up front, a courtyard in the back and loads of rooms for all party sizes throughout. Service has always been wonderful and today was no exception. Victor our server was patient and attentive. He made sure we knew what options were available and gave us all the choices written on the menu and the ones we made up. He served with a smile and never seemed far away. We wanted for nothing! My date was happy sitting in front of the televisions with a football game on sharing the current events from the newspaper while I studied the menu trying to decide what I was going to eat. It could not be too spicy, not too greasy and not too
chewy. I got it! I haven’t had a chile relleno in a long time so I order the Chile Relleno de Mariscos. A pablano pepper stuffed with shrimp and scallops half covered in ranchero sauce and half in cheese sauce. That was a choice we made up and I could not wait for it to be served. Although chips and salsa was served I wanted the main dish. The meal starts with your choice of beans or soup; fish or tortilla. And the dish itself
has the best Spanish rice. It has corn not tomatoes in it. The chile relleno did not appear to be covered with breading and then deep fried and it was absolutely refreshing! The shrimp and scallops were fresh and prepared in what appears to be a cream sauce. The ranchero
sauce is not too strong with tomatoes, the cheese sauce is very mild and the chile relleno was not greasy at all. Wow!! Perfectly prepared and presented! Did I just write a few weeks ago that Tex Mex was not one of my favorites…. Hmmmm, maybe I need to rethink this position. La Calle Doce I now know why my husband loves your food. This dish was pleasing to the palate and does not take Just a Bite out of the wallet. Two thumbs up and a big smile!La Calle Doce / 415 W 12th / Dallas, TX 75208 / 214-941-4304 / www.lacalledoce-dallas.com
ROLLIN WITH A BROTHAWelcome to the weekend, baaaby! Thank God for the President’s re-election! It feels great waking up and knowing someone who cares is running this great country... That said, almost half of over 100 Million Americans who voted chose Gov. Romney. It will be a trip seeing how the RepublicanTea Party controlled Congress
decides to work or not work with our President. At last report, Democrats still control the Senate and have narrowed the gap from 240(R)-190(D) to 226-204 in The House.I was talking with my partner Bloodhound Benny, who says his New Jersey relatives just got power back last Saturday and there’s a snow storm forecast...Prayers for the East Coast! Looking at weekend fun, Waka Flocka Flame’s “Friends, Fans and Family Tour” rocks the House of Blues tonight(11/09)! If ya don’t know Waka, ask your kids...He’s a trip and a real MC! If you are in the mood for a road trip, consider San Antonio for Kem in concert Saturday evening at the Alamo city’s Lila Cockrell Center! Speaking of road trips, “Weed Heads” (You know who you are) will be tripping to Colorado and Washington State. Both states have now legalized Marijuana for personal use. Arkansas defeated it’s “Medical Marijuana” bill 52-48%,
keeping the South safe and focused on alcohol, cigarettes and legalized gambling, lol! I saw Denzel’s movie “Flight” last weekend... It is Worthy with a capital W! I wanted a bit more action, but my date said it was just right! I’ve already set up my next date to see the new James Bond flick “Skyfall” this weekend. Looking at the previews, Like Whoa! Call me a cheap date, but i’ve fallen in love with Taco Casa! It’s like the “In and Out Burger” of taco’s and there’s a new location just 4 blocks west of McArthur on the 183W service
road in Irving! Big ups to all my fellow Mermaids and
Mermen(That’s what we are called)at the 24 Hr. Fitness water aerobics class! This Monday was my 1st Monday back since September, when my Mom passed and it was succulent, lol! Now to get back into the groove of 4-5 days a week of exercise...Gotta get ready for the beach in 2013! Looking forward to my fave girl group of the 90’s TLC’s “reunion”... There’s a movie in the works about them and they are planning concerts to support the film...Word has it that the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez may be “hologrammed” and appear on stage, kinda like Tupac at the Coachella (Youtube it)music festival! Toya Nash, Dallas native, actor and founder of Coach Your Craft acting and voice workshops taught a special Coach Your Craft acting workshop at St. Anthony Community Center in South Dallas on October 12. The donated acting workshop included a 3-hour introductory acting class for 25 students from grades 3 – 8. The students explored characters and expression, using basic Stanislavsky, Meisner, and Stella Adler acting techniques and then applied what they learned in scenework and improvisation exercises. “I believe so strongly in giving back to the Dallas community -- I grew up here and my home is here now, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to donate this special acting workshop to the St. Anthony Community Center which is so vital to the South Dallas community,” said Ms. Nash. “Every student participated -- which is so rare – and they really enjoyed the scenework and improvisation exercises. It was
amazing to see them grasp so much in just one workshop and St. Anthony is doing such a great job of preparing their students for the future. “ The goal of Coach Your Craft is to teach students important acting skills while providing a fun experience that’s positive and encouraging. Nash will be returning to St. Anthony Community Center on Friday, November 16 for another acting workshop where the students will be working on more scenework ad monologues. St. Anthony Community Center is located in south Dallas in a low-income area and is affiliated with St Anthony School which serves over 300 students focusing on curriculum, innovative instruction and parent and community involvement. St. Anthony strives to create an environment based upon academics that encourages students to become active lifelong learners who understand that people with their differences can also be right. St. Anthony
Community Center provides after school programs that enhance and enrich the lives of their students. Currently serving 50 students, the community center also offers a full nutritious meal (supper) after school for all students in the program. For more info, please visit http://www.saadallas.org. Born and raised in Dallas, Nash has taught acting to children, teens, and adults in a variety of community and academic settings, including the acclaimed Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. She is the founder of Coach Your Craft, a coaching company for voice and acting offered to children and adults who have an interest in acting performance and for those who simply have an interest in performing or speaking in front of others. One of the things she loves most about teaching is the cross-pollination of ideas and resource. Nash holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious Actors Studio Drama School in Manhattan.
