Watch your mailbox this week for a letter from Pastor Kris and your 2022 pledge card. We invite you to spend time in prayer, in discernment, and in gratitude as you determine how you can support Olivet's ministries. Stewardship has a long history in the life of the church. We know there is a connection between stewardship and spirituality: generous giving helps us to grow in Christ. Stewardship makes theological and worldly sense of all you have been given by taking your treasure and allocating it at your heart's direction. Olivet’s stewardship ministry is centered around growing as disciples of Jesus, strengthening the faith practices of those who participate, and together encouraging generosity in the faithful stewardship of God’s abundant blessings. Throughout the year we will provide opportunities to share your blessings (time, talents, and money) to meet the needs of our congregation and the many ministry partners we work with. In addition, each November you are invited to participate in Olivet’s annual financial stewardship campaign by making a pledge or commitment of your expected financial contribution to the church for the following year. Sunday, November 21 is Stewardship Sunday. We ask you to bring your completed pledge card with you to worship and drop it in the offering basket. Your timeliness in returning your pledge card allows us to begin budgeting for the upcoming year. You can mail your card to the church, drop it off any time prior to the end of November, or pledge online at olivet.org. News & Events

Dear Friends,

God calls us to different adventures at unique points in time. In 1921-1922, Olivet’s ministry began with the courageousleaders who started this church. Those leaders gave us deep, faithful roots that have branched out and led to a richhistory. Those branches bear fruit through our ministry together that has equipped this congregation for 100+ years anddear people of Olivet, you continue to respond to God’s call.

Serving together at Olivet Lutheran Church for these last 20 years has been an honor and a privilege. It’s hard to believethat next Sunday, November 14th will be my last time preaching as a pastor of Olivet Lutheran Church. I am incrediblygrateful to each of you. My heart is overflowing when I think of the generosity, care, compassion, and love of God youshare abundantly both around the Fargo-Moorhead area and throughout the world. You respond instead of looking awayand that blesses the Body of Christ.

Thank you for embracing my family and me as you welcomed our babies, helped confirm all three of our kids, and blessedour family through many milestones. You have forever impacted our faith and life as we have grown together as disciplesof Jesus Christ.

We’ve shared many memories, joys, celebrations, losses, and challenges together. We have had the joy of welcoming newpeople into our midst, and we have had the pain of losing people we deeply love. After sharing so much life and timetogether, it is difficult to say goodbye. As we enter these final days in our ministry together, we prepare to move forward.

Many of you have asked why I am leaving now and where I am going next. I have spent more time at Olivet than anywhereelse in my entire life. Many prayers for discernment helped me feel at peace that this call is complete. While I have manyoptions, I do not have a definitive plan for my next call. I want to take time for my soul to breathe and take in these lastyears with gratitude before entering a new call and community.

As my call at Olivet is complete, our relationship will change. I will no longer be your pastor, which means that I will not beavailable for counseling, weddings, funerals, baptisms, or to fill any other pastoral needs. A new pastor will be called, andI know you will fully embrace that person just as you embraced me.

As I move on to another ministry opportunity, a new adventure awaits you as well. A new pastor will emerge from thesearch process and excitement will build for the new missions and ministry that God will call you to do together. Pleaseknow you, the people of Olivet, will always have a special place in my heart. You have been faithful to Christ in your heartfor mission to those in need.

I pray to God that only the very best will be met for all of you in the years ahead. I am grateful to have served as yourpastor and for your willingness to let me into the challenges and joys of your life as we prayed and worshipped our Godtogether.

Wherever I live, I will follow your ministry and progress, and I will pray with you for God's Blessing. May God bless you andkeep you and may each of you feel God's Presence in the days, years, and decades to come.

In Christ's Unfailing Love, Pastor Tiffany Sundeen

will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.” -Revelation 21:3-4
