Up for the

Challenge!

I have great news, church family! Our International

Mission Board (IMB) informs us that our 2014 Lottie

Moon Christmas Offering amount met the fourth and

highest giving milestone recognized by the IMB! The

IMB’s Associate Vice President for Development,

David Clippard, writes, The Headland First Baptist

Church family gave at a level called the ‘Manchuria

Challenge,’ which recognizes churches that gave $100

and up per capita based on the average Sunday

morning attendance. The 943 churches that met the

‘Manchuria Challenge’ represent 2 percent of the

50,000 churches that comprise the Southern Baptist

Convention. This group of churches gave over $36

million, or 24 percent of the 2014 LMCO. To God be

the glory great things He has done through His people!

You may remember that Lottie Moon died on

Christmas Eve, 1914, on a ship named the Manchuria.

Weighing only 50 pounds, she was carried aboard to

return to America to be nursed back to health. She had

given everything, including her own food, to her

beloved Chinese people. Lottie Moon’s spirit lives in

our missionaries today who have given up much to be

our representatives to the unreached peoples of the

world! May her spirit and sacrifice inspire us to meet

the “Manchuria Challenge” again this year to support

these choice missionaries!

This Sunday, November 29th, begins our Week of

Prayer for International Missions. Praying prepares

our hearts to give sacrificially and generously to the

2015 Lottie Moon Christmas Offering the following

week. Missionaries Tim and Charlotte Cearley from

Sub-Saharan Africa will be our guests for this

Sunday’s morning service and for the special evening

service and fellowship time to follow. Don’t miss this

great Sunday! You will thoroughly enjoy the Cearleys

and the accounts they will share of God’s powerful

work on the mission field.

See you Sunday!

Christ as He transforms the individual spiritually, emo-

FBC Family,

Kim & I wish we could thank each of you personally for all

the calls, texts, cards, and most of all your prayers. We are

so blessed to have church family such as you.

As we are still on this journey, we covet each and every

prayer and thank you for them.

Church Family,

I want to thank you all for your prayers and concern during

my recent surgery. Your words of encouragement, cards

and visits meant so much to me.

I am humbled by your acts of kindness. Danny and I are

blessed to be a part of such a caring church family.
