PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Being a Model A owner for almost four years now, I am still amazed at the number of “thumbs up” I receive while driving my Model A car. I have met a number of people who wander over to view the car at filling stations or while parked at various shopping stores around town. For many people, the car brings back memories of grandparents or other family members who once owned such a vehicle. For others, the car evokes a sense of nostalgia similar to viewing a Norman Rockwell painting. With the holidays approaching, each person with a Model A can create a “Rockwell Moment” by adding a little “holiday bling” to their Model A. Simple wreath hanging from the grill and a bright red bow on the trunk will offer the viewer a momentary escape of the sameness in their day. So this season I am encouraging everyone to get into the spirit. Using your Model A as your canvas, add some festive touches and generate a feeling in all those you pass, a sense of an idealistic American Holiday in a Model A! Mike James, President
WICHITA A’S MEETING MINUTES Minisa Park, October 22, 2018
President Mike James called the October 22, 2018 meeting of the Wichita A’s to order. Wayne Orr moved and it was seconded and passed that the minutes from the last meeting be approved as printed in the newsletter. Motion passed. Mike James reported that the board had appointed Linda Kibbe as Vice President for the current year. He also asked that club members nominate candidates for our next MAFFI Brick. Treasurer Claudia Ellerman reported on the club’s finances and Richard Kibbe reported that the next Wichita Area Car Council meeting is scheduled for November 6. Bonita Graham had no Sunshine additions which everyone agreed was good news. The Augusta 150th tour and car show and a movie was summarized by Mike James. Dawna Ruggles reminded the club of the upcoming Christmas party on November 26. Jim Clark is in charge of the October 28th All Ford’s Day. Unfor-tunately the Cotton Gin Tour has been cancelled but hopefully will be rescheduled in the Spring. In new business, Gil Adams moved and it was seconded and passed to approve the board’s appointment of Linda Kibbe as Vice President. The Mennonite Church Thanksgiving Dinner is November 3rd. The Ladies Christmas Luncheon is December 7th at the Derby Olive Garden. Following a break and refreshments provided by Vicki Hildibrand, Glenda Sill, Joan Bruce, and Debbie Rice, Richard Kibbe moderated a time of Model A Story telling. What will you find when you take 4 men to a garage?
Wichita A’s Club member, Ray Harshfield brought home another Model A. The 1930 Coupe has been in storage for several years. Ray asked for help and John Stone, Ray Hoffmans and Richard Kibbe volunteered to help get the car out of the garage where it was stored. After airing up the tires they got it out and it is now in John’s garage where John and Ray are going to get it back on the road. RK

Ray Harshfield!
Floyd Zwahl
Floyd Zwahl, one of our longtime members moved to Wetmore, KS sever-al years ago. He has recently sold his ‘28 special coupe to the Spring Creek Classics Car Museum in Wetmore. A family in Wetmore put together the neat museum in an old Chrysler/Plymouth dealership and an old Texaco station. Several of us stopped there on our way to the St. Joseph, MO regional a few years ago. We all agreed it was a really nice collection and decorated with lots of dealership memorabilia. If you ever plan to be in the area, call to set up a visit. Info: www.springcreekclassics.com/

Send a Brick for Christmas!
Since 2011, when we first started raising money for the construction of the Model A Museum, about 1550 bricks have been ordered in memory or in honor of your favorite Model A’ers, Model A clubs and regions. We have room under the gas canopy at the Museum for about 110 more bricks. It would be a wonderful thing if we could finish off that area by Model A Day 2019! So how about ordering a brick for a loved one for Christmas. A personalized brick would make a great gift for that parent or grandparent who really doesn’t “need” anything and of course, it would benefit the Model A Museum as well. If your Model A region or club doesn’t yet have a brick at the Museum, now would be a good time to do that as well. Use the brick order form in the upcoming issue of the ‘A’ Preserver or copy and paste this link into your browser: Http://www.maffi.org/WSContent/Download/BuyABrickDonation.pdf It will be in place at the Museum by September 21, 2018 Merry Christmas and thank you, Loukie Brick Coordinator Thank you, Marsha Quesnel, MAFFI Trustee

Modern feet rejoice in the twofold Smartness of
FOOT SAVER SHOES
To the clever woman of today, perfect footwear is something more than merely smart. Beauty of line she insists on...richness of leathers and an air of svelte grace. But her shoes must do more than merely look young. They must feel young, too! Because they are superbly comfortable, Foot Saver Shoes endow their wearers with the lithe swing of youth. Slipping into a pair of these distinctive shoes is like the dawn of a new day! Foot muscles that were cramped and aching, softly relax...twitching nerves cease their nagging...all because of the Foot Saver patented, inbuilt construction which skillfully prevents arch strain...Let Foot Savers bring to your weary feet this twofold smartness of freedom and style!
