S H I R L E Y D O A N E
Happy Thanksgiving.
What am I thankful for? As I thought about this so many people marched through my mind; family, friends mentors, the list goes on...
What have I learned from all these people? Everyone has value. All of us have two sides, a very uniquely beautiful side, and a not so lovely side. It seems that when we feed the ‘uniquely beautiful side’ of another person, that side grows bigger. Which side we feed does make a huge difference in the lives of every person who crosses our path.
Thanks to all of YOU, my uniquely beautiful Senior Center friends, for teaching me so much through this awesome journey! Love, Shari

An Attitude of Gratitude
Thanksgiving is of course the time of year when we celebrate and give thanks for our blessings. But it is not the only time during the course of the year when we are grateful for what we have nor is it the only opportunity to appreciate the gifts in life with which we have been bestowed. Here at the Senior Center we always have a lot to be thankful for. Every day there is reason to celebrate the love and acceptance we have with each other. This community to which we all belong has grown exponentially over the last few years thanks to many factors. Our “family” has succeeded because of the vision Shari has facilitated, and our board of directors, members and community have strongly supported. We always have an “Attitude of Gratitude” not only at Thanksgiving. Never a day goes by without a sign of support. And the relationships that are formed here are the basis for our success bringing rewards much similar to those we see in our immediate families. I know I am grateful for you all and what you all do-I hope you feel the same. Enjoy this holiday season. I hope you will join us in celebrating on the 19th at our Thanksgiving Dinner. And don’t for-get to be here for “Tom (turkey’s) last day” on Wednesday the 26th to donate and/or purchase a pie at our annual pie sale.
Happy Thanksgiving!
