Longtime Charlie Daniels Band background vocalist Carolyn Corlew was crowned
Ms. Senior America at the National pageant at Resorts Casino Hotel's Superstar Theater in
Atlantic City, NJ. The competition featured 34 women age 60 and older from around the
country. Corlew won the title of Ms. Senior Tennessee April 27th. While representing
Wilson County at the Tennessee State convention, Corlew encouraged ladies that have
reached the "Age of Elegance" to consider participating in the pageant.
"I am thrilled, honored and so excited about wearing this crown for the next year," said
Corlew. "These women were over the top - there were professional dancers, opera singers
from Broadway... I sang a bluesy Etta James song and we had a 93 year old that rocked the
competition. I'm blown away. From this point it's spirit, mind and then body - it's gotta
come from within. I've got a 20 pound dress on and a crown and I'm proud to represent all
the senior women of America!"
Ms. Senior America, established by Dr. Al Mott in 1972, is the world's first and foremost
pageant to emphasize and give honor to women who have reached the "Age of Elegance."
It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner
beauty of all senior Americans. By giving women 60 years of age and older an opportunity to display their "inner
beauty," talents, and elegance, the Pageant seeks to draw attention to the achievements of senior women. The Pag-
eant motivates and encourages women to utilize their full potential and share a positive outlook on life with others.
Participants represent a cross section of America.
"Certainly youth is beauty that excites, but age is charm
and character that inspires," Mott said. "One of the rea-
sons this pageant is thriving is because it's a celebration
of women who've reached - perhaps "achieved" is the
more apt term, the "age of elegance."
The Pageant's philosophy is based upon the belief that
seniors are the foundation of America, and our most
valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experi-
ence and resources that the younger generation has the
opportunity to build a better society.
"These remarkable women have had successful careers,
raised families, survived cancer, strokes, heart attacks;
struggled, lived and thrived, yet they remain steadfastly
elegant and inspiring," said Dr. Mott.

If you have a chance to see Travis Tritt in concert - this is one concert you don‟t want to
miss! I recently had the opportunity to see Travis
Tritt perform at the Trump Taj Mahal casino in At-
lantic City, NJ.
In these days of high tech, extravagant, and some-
times talentless shows, it is refreshing to see and
hear an artist who is so talented, that he can com-
mand the stage and entertain an audience by simply
sitting on a stool in the stark darkness with just one spotlight on him,
playing and singing his heart out to some of the most beautiful hit
songs ever written and recorded. With vocals so rich and comforting, I
felt like I was in pure heaven, as he sang some of his greatest hit songs
including “Tell Me I Was Dreaming,” “Can I Trust You With My
Heart,” “Best of Intentions” and more! I felt like I was sitting in a
comfortable chair in a living room with a fire crackling in the fireplace,
hanging out and listening to Travis Tritt playing guitar and singing in
this intimate setting.
For the more rockin, and/or honkey tonk songs such as, “Country Club,”
T-R-O-U-B-L-E, “The Whiskey Ain‟t Working,” and one of my all-time favorites, “Here‟s a Quarter (Call Some-
one Who Cares),” I felt like I was in Billy Bob's in Fort Worth Texas, rather than being in the less intimate arena
that I was actually in. Ironically, I looked at his tour date schedule and found out that he actually is going to be
playing at Billy Bob‟s coming up shortly! (Nov. 23rd) So for all you out there near the Fort Worth area in Texas -
be sure to catch his show!
This man just reeks talent! Performing for two hours, not only is he a talented singer, multi-hit songwriter, and ex-
ceptional guitarist - he also has some pretty cool, unique dance moves too. All of the musicians in the band did a
great job. Some members of his band have been with him for the past 20 plus years! He really inspired me as a
songwriter to keep plugging away writing, recording, and performing for the sheer love of it!
I am happy to announce that Travis Tritt‟s new CD, entitled “The Calm After” is now available. Check out his web-
site at www.travistritt.com for more information on that. Travis‟ daughter, Tyler Reese is making her debut on the
CD singing with Travis on the Patty Smythe-Don Henley duet, “Sometimes Love Just Ain‟t Enough.” There is a
you tube video of that on his website as well.
Be sure to check out www.travistritt.com for lots of upcoming tour dates, to buy his latest CD, "The Calm After,"
and for the latest news and information on Travis Tritt. And a special note - check his website for soon to be re-
leased information on a new, mostly acoustic project with his former No Hats Tour chum Marty Stuart!

Marty Raybon & Full Circle‟s new release entitled, The Back Forty, highlights not only
Marty‟s Bluegrass vocal style, but his songwriting skills as well, co-writing five of the ten
songs with writers Jerry Salley, John Fountain, Michael Bonagura, and Thom Case. From
the first song, “That Janie Baker” to the last, “Mountain Love,” Marty & Full Circle have
a blend that is so genuine and honest - it‟s refreshing!

Skylar Elise • Skylar Elise • www.skylarelise.com
Under the watchful eye of producer, D. Scott Miller, teenager, Skylar Elise, has released a
six song self-titled EP. Skylar‟s vocals are quite developed for her age and the songs are
geared for the young country music audience. She wrote one song “You Wish,” which
stands out on the project. Skylar should garner some attention as she continues to develop
her talent - the country music world will be hearing more from her.
Diana Kelley • Lines • www.reverbnation.com/dianakelleymusic
Singer/songwriter, Diana Kelley offers up a fourteen song CD on which she has written/co
-written all of the songs. Her lyrics are thoughtful and relatable and the melody‟s compli-
ment the mood of each song nicely. While the production is simple and the vocals unpol-
ished, this CD will appeal to those interested in feeling the song‟s emotion like in “Jesus
In New Orleans” and “Ain‟t Through Sinnin‟ Yet.”
Tim Ash • Up On Blocks • www.timash.net
Tim Ash‟s CD, Up On Blocks, opens with a rockin‟ song entitled, “Tattoos, Tractors,
Tanktops, and Trucks” and while this song sounds more pop/rock than country, there are
some country music gems on the project including “Losing Her All Over Again,”
“Warning Signs,” “Beertropolis.” And “Lay It On Me.” There is a passion in Tim‟s vo-
cals that makes this project appealing.

Mike Aiken • Captains & Cowboys • www.mikeaikenmusic.com
Mike Aiken‟s CD, Captains & Cowboys includes twelve songs, eight of which Mike had a
hand in writing. This project is filled with raw emotion and goes from the ocean to the
honky-tonks. Of particular interest is the song, “Your Memory Wins” (co-written with
Austin Cunningham) and “Captains & Cowboys” (co-written with Brad Davis). All in all,
Mike has a lot to say and he delivers his message well.

company, SnoopBug Publishing, and is currently working on his own record label,
NCA Records. He is excited to kick-start his creativity and love of country music by
announcing his recent album release, "Nashville Bound." The song, "Another Round"
from this album reached number 5 on the IndieWorld Country Chart and he just re-
leased the next single, entitled “Memory Lane.”
Clay will be hosting the Big Barn Jam, a live concert in his home town of DeRidder
on November 16, 2013. The concert will feature the Nashville talents of The Kentucky
Headhunters and Jeff Bates.

Thibodeaux, and yours truly, Clay Alston. Jim King, host and owner of the “King of the Road Show” in Southeast
Texas which promotes and features independent artists as well as other well known stars of country music will be on
location filming the concert.
Clay has a positive outlook on his future as a songwriter and a country music entertainer. He acknowledges his pro-
ductive team, family, friends and fans have encouraged and assisted in his success. He is confident that his music
will help him accomplish higher goals within the next few years.

Clay’s motto is “you‟re not living unless you‟re giving” which is an indicator of
the impact Mr. Alston can bring to the country music world. He loves getting fans
involved by giving away t-shirts, CDs, jackets, guitar picks and guitars via Face-
book drawings. (www.facebook.com/clay.alston) His website can also be accessed

2013 has proven to be one of the best years for Clay Alston. He doesn‟t predict any
slowing down in the next few years to come. He has already begun working on a
new CD which will be recorded on music row in Nashville, TN. In the past, Clay
has recorded in several “mom and pop” recording studios in Nashville which have
been successful; however, he is looking forward to bringing his style of music and
personality into some of the major recording studios in order to provide the best
quality of music for his fans.

Grammy award-winning country singer/songwriter Hank Wil-
liams Jr. will headline the fifth annual Music City New Year‟s Eve
„Bash on Broadway‟ event in downtown Nashville. A city that
knows how to throw a good party, Music City will once again of-
fer one of the biggest New Year‟s Eve celebrations in the country
with multiple days of free live music and Nashville‟s own mid-
night “Music Note Drop.”
“Football, football and Hank! All our rowdy friends are staying
over this year,” said Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the
NCVC. “This may be the best end-of-year “mash-up” we have
ever had with the Titans, the SEC and Hank ringing in the New
Year. Are you ready?”
“This year is going to be very special on New Year‟s Eve,” says
Hank Williams Jr. “December 31st will mark the 60th anniversary
of daddy‟s death. For years, I have not performed on New Year‟s Eve in honor of my father, but this year is a monu-
mental year in the history of Hank Williams. If daddy would have lived, he would have been 90 years old this year. I
hope Music City is ready to boogie woogie, because Bocephus is going bring the party to Nashville.”

Hank Williams Jr.
Though he began his career in the shadow of his legendary father, Hank Williams Jr. emerged as a formidable
Country singer-songwriter in his own right with 1960s hits such as “It‟s All Over But The Crying” and “Cajun
Baby.” But things changed with the 1979 release of “Family Tradition,” where he broke the Nashville mainstream
by adopting a rebel image and writing/recording in a style incorporating his Blues and Southern Rock influences.
The results were staggering as 42 Top-10 hits followed, two CMA Entertainer of the Year honors, three ACM En-
tertainer of the Year honors, multiple Grammy nominations and a Grammy award for “There‟s a Tear in My Beer”,
a duet with his father using electronic merging technology.
As groundbreaking as Hank Williams Jr. became, it wasn‟t just his performance that people took note about, but
rather his songwriting that became so notable. The driven musician penned hits songs year after year scoring 20
BMI Awards. One of the arguably most-heard Country song of modern times, the four-time Emmy award-winning
“Are You Ready For Some Football?,” which was heard nationally as the theme song of ABC and ESPN‟s Monday
Night Football telecasts, was aired for 21 years.
As the accolades kept coming, Williams sold over 55 million albums, achieving gold, platinum, and multi-platinum
status along with 13 of those albums hitting the no. 1 spot on the Billboard chart. In 2008, Williams was honored
with the BMI Icon award at the 56th annual BMI Country Awards, joining an elite group of past honorees including
Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Dolly Parton.

Ricky Skaggs will be the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum‟s 2013 Art-
ist-in-Residence. Skaggs will present two intimate evening performances on
November 18 and 19, at 7:00 p.m. The concerts will be the museum‟s first pub-
lic programs in the new CMA Theater.
Established in 2003, the museum‟s residency program annually honors a musical
master who can be credited with contributing a large and significant body of
work to the canon of American popular music. Honorees are given a blank can-
vas and are encouraged to lend their own creative brushstrokes to an up-close-
and-personal musical experience. Previous Artist-in-Residence honorees in-
clude Cowboy Jack Clement, Earl Scruggs, Tom T. Hall, Guy Clark, Kris
Kristofferson, Jerry Douglas, Vince Gill, Buddy Miller, Connie Smith and
Kenny Rogers.
This year, Skaggs has chosen to perform two unique shows - each with its own
theme and lineup of guest artists. The first show, November 18, will have a
country music theme; Ricky‟s special guests that night will include Emmylou
Harris, Brad Paisley, Peter Frampton, Gordon Kennedy and The Whites. The
second show, November 19, will celebrate his bluegrass roots with special guests Alison Krauss, Bruce Hornsby,
Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill, Del McCoury and The Whites. Both nights will feature Skaggs‟ award-winning
band, Kentucky Thunder.
“Ricky Skaggs has created his own career path,” said Museum Director Kyle Young. “It‟s rare to find an artist who
thrives in three different genres, but Ricky does. He is highly respected in country, bluegrass and gospel music, and
he has a way of blending these styles that delights music fans. Ricky has been a great friend to the museum for
many years. He was on hand, in 2011, when we announced our plans for expanding the museum. Now he will pre-
sent the museum‟s first public program in our new CMA Theater. With its nearly 800-seat capacity, the new theater
allows us to welcome more guests while still maintaining the intimate atmosphere that makes our Artist-in-
Residence series so special.”
An innovative musician, top-notch vocalist, record producer and label owner, Grammy award-winning Ricky
Skaggs has developed a unique hybrid of traditional American music throughout his more than four decades career.
While he is regarded as a pioneer of country music‟s neo-traditionalist movement and a flame-keeper for traditional
bluegrass, he also has been creatively restless, at times moving roots-oriented music in new, progressive directions.
Ricky Skaggs was born on July 18, 1954, in Cordell, Kentucky. His father gave him his first mandolin when he was
five, and it was soon apparent that the young boy was a natural musician. A year later, when Bill Monroe performed
in the nearby town of Martha, he invited young Skaggs onstage to play his mandolin. By age seven, Skaggs earned
his first paycheck for performing “Ruby” and “Honky Tonk Swing” on Flatt & Scruggs‟ syndicated TV show.
Skaggs has released more than 30 albums and won 14 Grammys, 11 IBMA awards, eight CMA awards and nine
Academy of Country Music awards.

Brad Puckett ~ At Least I'm Feeling Again
http://youtu.be/EBl6UuQRnhs
I really like this video, the production was good and the artist and song were excel-
lent. The combination of production, artist and song make it's a must see video, I
believe it's a healing in process that almost everybody can relate to.
Tommy Steele ~ "We ain't Drunk"
http://youtu.be/8Fzd1fjHJxg
The production was alright but could have been better and the intro was a little long.
Now as for the storyline it is just another drinkin' song but the song and music
rocked so if you like drinkin' songs then this video is for you.

Buddy Good & James Marvell ~ The Country Cavaleers
http://youtu.be/mIbYUrrtExM
I would not call this a production video as I would call it a documentary but if you
like a good story and like seeing some great artist of the past then I would recom-
mend that you watch this video.
John Heinrich ~ “A Night In Tunisia" & "Lady Bird"
http://youtu.be/WfTrjo6fUKo
I would not call this a production video as it is more a work tape video but because I
know John Heinrich and used him with one of my past artist shows, I have to give
credit to where credit is due. John is multi-talented musician here in Nashville, so if
you're looking for or in need of a Steel Guitar, Saxophone, Dobro or Flute player,
then I recommend John Heinrich. I give John a 5 star but the video only 3.
