LITURGY OF THE WORD
A worthy wife has value far beyond pearls. She deserves payment for her labor and praise for her work.
First Scripture - Book of Proverbs 31:10-13-, 19-20, 30-31
Gloria - Glory to God Mass of Saint Ann
Music: Ed Bolduc © 2011, World Library Publications
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, al-might-y Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take a-way the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take a-way the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. (Refrain with Amen)
Responsorial - Psalm 128: Blest Are Those Who Love You Marty Haugen
Happy all those who fear the Lord, and walk in God’s pathway; You will find what you long for: the riches of our God.
Your spouse shall be like a fruitful vine in the midst of your home, Your children flourish like olive plants rejoicing at your table.
May the blessings of God be yours all the days of your life, May the peace and the love of God live always in your heart.

According to Paul, Christians are children of light. They belong not to dark nor to night but, rather, to day and light. They should stay awake, be sober, and alert.
Second Scripture - First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians 5:1-6
Jesus tells the parable about a man who went on a journey and gave his servants money. On his return, he says to the one who made the greatest prophet, “Well done…I will give you great responsibilities.”
Gospel - Gospel of Matthew 25:14-30
Prayer of the Faithful - Lord, Hear Our Prayer
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Gospel Acclamation - Alleluia The Roman Missal

Communion - O Beauty, Ever Ancient Roc O’Connor, SJ
Text: St. Augustine of Hippo’s Confessions. Text & music © 2004, Robert O’Connor. Published by OCP.
Oh, late have I loved you, oh, late have I turned; turned from seeking you in creatures, fleeing grief and pain within.
My unloveliness I ran from, turned to seek you in all things, things you fashioned as a pathway; yet I lost myself in them.
This created world is glorious, yet I could not see within, see your loveliness behind all, find the Giver in the gift.
I had wandered far, perceiving that I walked my road alone. Yet you called, you shone, you summoned, and you drew my spirit home.
In your loveliness you made me, in your godly image true; by your grace you have renewed me; let me live my life in you!
