to teach one to think
intensively and to think
critically. Intelligence plus

true education.

not fatal: it is the courage to
continue that counts.

School of Business Studies (SBS) at Sharda University is one of the leading schools
in the university. It offers multicultural exposure to students both within the class-rooms and beyond through its vast cultural diversity and specially designed study abroad programme. Regular visits abroad on academic assignments and carrying out research and consultancy projects by faculty members contribute to providing rich blend of faculty experience. Arrangements are made to take the students to attend important seminars and conferences organized by industry associations, different ministries of government and United Nations bodies in Delhi and else-where. Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities organized by the students and for the students with active motivational support from the members of the faculty help them hone their leadership skills. The School offers a number of programmes spanning undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels that has a total strength of 1293 students and 62 Ph.D. schol-ars. Faculty members – about 42 in number – are continuously engaged in bringing about improvements in pedagogy, contents and evaluation methods. Last year, they were engaged in preparing a number of business cases to be adopted for teaching in the classrooms. A couple of books have also been published from the School. A number of impressive project proposals for research have been devel-oped and sent for potential funding to different agencies. Faculty members have provided consultancy services to organizations such as erstwhile Planning Commis-sion, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India and Harvard University. The placement activities of the School are satisfactory, given that a good number of students come from business families and are interested in pursuing their own business with expansionary and/or diversionary zeal. The results are also better in comparison with the general trend in placement with other business schools across the country. Some international students have also successfully developed their own businesses in their home countries. The School aims at scaling further heights in the coming years both in terms of achievements of the students and the faculty members.
