Heres a story from Wally Bergquist: On Saturday, [Judy and I] took part in a food drive in support of the local food bank. We were at a local grocery store to accept food donations and/or monetary support. About 15 minutes after setting up, a young mother with 3 children came in and while mom was getting her cart, the oldest of her kids, a boy about 6 or 7, came up to me and took a couple of minutes to read my sign, then reached into his pocket and pulled out several dollar bills, and without taking time to count, he handed them to me, smiled and joined his family. Not sure, but I think he gave me all he had. What a thoughtful and generous act.Feeding Our NeighborsTrinity Family Ministry is leading a feeding emphasis for the entire congregation during the month of November. YOU CAN HELP! Besides the Wednesday morning Bible Study, do you know there are several groups such as ChristCare and TLCW at Trinity that offer such a place for your spiritual growth. There are also groups who read and study books: a weekly book club and monthly book group for women, Tuesdays with Phoebe.

Are you part of a group that is open to newbies? If so, please contact Pastor Jade, who is in the process of gathering all such groups’ information into a brochure ([email protected]).

Assistance for Family Affected by Fire: Good Samaritan Fund As you may be aware, on Sunday November 3 a fire destroyed the apartment nearby where Mr. Misael Figueroa and Ovidia Moran were living. As of today, they are living with a friend, but are in need of financial resources to replace their personal belongings. Trinity Lutheran Church is committed to love boldly and to serve joyfully in the community, therefore, let's open our hands to share our financial support for Misael, Ovidia, and their two children while they are relocated.

If you feel the call to support our neighbors, please make contributions to the Trinity Good Samaritan Fund, which is in place for assistance at times like this. Your contributions of cash or gift cards to WalMart, Fred Meyer, or Target will be directed to the Figueroa-Moran family. Thanks be to God for you and your contribution to support our neighbors. With questions, contact Pastor Hector ([email protected]).
