Rule No. 1 To change singular nouns to plural nouns add an s at the end of the word.Examples: one girl many girls one car many cars

Rule no. 2If the noun ends in y and it has a consonant before it change it to ies.Examples:one fly many fliesone baby many babies

Rule No. 3If the noun ends in y and it has a vowel before it , add an s at the end of the word.Examples:one tray many traysone key- many keys

Rule no. 4If the noun ends in f or fe change it to ves.Examples:one thief-many thieves one knife-many knives

Exception to Rule no. 4 Some nouns which in end in f dont change to ves , simply add an s at the end.Example: one chef many chefs
