Interchange stop with Hucknall to Toton Lane Route Interchange stop with Phoenix Park to Clifton South Route The project to extend Nottingham’s tram service to the south and south west of the city to Chilwell via the QMC and Beeston and Clifton via Wilford (known as NET Phase Two) is well under way. The extension will more than double the size of Nottingham’s tram network by the end of 2014 to 32km, provide a further 28 tram stops, and an additional 22 new-style tram vehicles will be added to our existing fleet to serve further large parts of the conurbation such as Clifton and Beeston, key employment sites, The University of Nottingham, the Queen’s Medical Centre, and junctions 24 and 25 of the M1. Offering quick, reliable, cross-city services, the extended tram network will operate every 7.5 minutes throughout most of the day (every 3.35 mins in the city section), and it is currently envisaged that services will operate between Hucknall and Toton Lane (via Bulwell, Nottingham city centre, Beeston and Chilwell), and Phoenix Park and Clifton South (via Nottingham city centre, Wilford and Clifton)*. Excellent transport interchanges will be offered at Nottingham Station, where a brand new tram stop is being integrated into the redeveloped station facilities, in Beeston Town Centre, where a new bus / tram interchange is being built, and in Clifton too. While two new tram Park & Ride sites (we like to call them Park & Glide sites) are being installed on Toton Lane, close to junction 24 of the M1, and Clifton South, close to junction 25 of the M1. Delivering a world-class tram network for Greater Nottingham Citycard Cycle Hub facilities will be offered at the new Park & Glide sites and cycling routes will be created along the extended tram network, with cycle stands available at tram stops on these routes. Open from the first tram to the last (6am-1am), the sites are cleaned daily and patrolled by our staff as well as being monitored by CCTV. They’re all equipped with emergency help points offering direct communication to our depot team. All our sites have designated parking for disabled customers. The project to extend Nottingham’s tram service to the south and south west of the city to Chilwell via the QMC and Beeston and Clifton via Wilford (known as NET Phase Two) is well under way.
