Volume 12 - 4 May 2017 NOTRE DAME NEWS FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE-LONG LEARNING FROM THE PRINCIPAL THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK Dear Parents and Staff “If I could be of service in serving souls in any part of the world, I would gladly do all in my power.” Nano Nagle As a Catholic school community, we are called to pick up our lantern and be of service to others, especially the most vulnerable. This week, Darryl Winsor and the leadership team are aOending the PresentaPon Schools’ Conference in Sydney where they have been exploring ways in which we, as a Catholic school community, can go one step beyond and respond to the needs of others on a local and naPonal scale. Yesterday, at our whole school Mass organized by the Year 4 teachers, we celebrated the Feast of Saints Philip and James. We listened to the Gospel from Saint John (14:6) where Jesus famously said to Philip, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” So, in loving and serving others like Jesus, we also love God the Father. MOTHER’S DAY Our Mothers’ Day service will be held next Friday 12 May. We will begin with Mass in the Church at 8.30am, followed by Year 1P Assembly at 9.30am and then Morning Tea in the Music Room. There will be lucky door prizes at the morning tea. The flyer for this went home yesterday. Please return the acceptance slip as soon as possible for catering purposes.
