The first installment of the same site camping payment ($362.50) is due no later than October 15th, 2015.

All watercraft units must be removed from the marina rental slips no later than Thursday, October 15th. Please plan accordingly as no extensions will be granted.

The cost of decals for motorized recreational vehicles and vacant lot mowing will change to the prices listed below.

V. New BusinessA. Annual Meeting November 7 - Set Time if Other Than 2:00 p.m.The Board agreed to keep the time at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

B. Water Utility NotificationWritten correspondence was received from Dave & Barb Marshall, Lot 312 stating that the week of August 18, 2015, the water was shut off. They re-ceived no notice of this action or notice of a boil order from the utility company.Director Martel asked the General Manager if we had received notice and she replied no. General Manager Boyer said State statutes require every water utility or private water utility is to no-tify all affected customers in advance of work that will be done that results in water being shut off and notice of a boil order. If they cannot reach you at your home, they are supposed to hang a tag, which they do not do.Director Martel instructed the General Manager to file a complaint with the ICC (Illinois Commerce Commission). Also going forward, when the wa-ter company shows up to do construction work, the front gate should find out where the work will be done and post information. Also, put a notice in the Sunbeam that if members are experiencing problems with Utilities, Inc., they should call and complain to the ICC and Utilities, Inc.

C. Campground Site ImprovementsDirector Bommersbach reported that at the last

Campground meeting it was proposed to change two Primitive sites to Seasonal sites. To use a por-tion of the unspent 2015 Campground budgeted money this fiscal year so the sites would be avail-able for next summer season. The General Manager researched the associated costs which are project-ed to be lower than the money that is remaining.

Director Bommersbach moved to approve the use of money available in this year's budget to convert Campground sites 34 & 35 from Primitive to Sea-sonal sites. Director Kot seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Directors Klatzco, Kot, Singh, Bommers-bach and Martel voted yes. Motion passed.

VI. Committee Updates, Presentations, Resigna-tions & AppointmentsA. Updates and Presentations from CommitteesCampground Committee - Director Bommersbach reported that the Pancake Breakfast went well and over 200 people participated.

Recreation Committee - Director Bommersbach stated the Garage Sales and Fish Fry were good. Next event is Autumn Days on September 26th.

Finance Committee - Director Singh said will talk about this later.

Community Relations Committee - Director Singh stated that the Board will go over appeal recom-mendations in Executive Session today.

Natural Resources Committee - Director Klatzco reported that Mr. Catrambone placed some struc-tures on the lake this past month.

Environmental Control Committee - Director Kot reported that a shed, sea walls, two docks and a garage were approved. There are three houses that are just about completed.

Lakes & Dams Committee - Director Martel re-ported that the second half of our lake inspection of docks was done; noting any disrepair, being in compliance with the new tieback rule and looking for lot numbers. A smaller group will check Lake Tanglewood. The 319 Grant work is behind sched-ule due to the rain and the contractor will be out next week. Grant money will pay for work done in September. There is 4-6 weeks of work to be done by end of October. A member sent an email to the Committee about aerators for Lake Tanglewood, it has an algae problem. The Committee has put to-gether a draft projection of capital projects, includ-ing addressing sedimentation in the inlets. Com-mittee will present in next couple of months.

Common Properties & Amenities Committee - Gen-eral Manager reported the Lodge concrete project will be starting Monday. Are looking at purchasing LED lights for the patio, which is in this year's bud-get. The Marina walkway work is ongoing.

VII. Unfinished BusinessA. Choose Bank for New Pool FundingThe Board discussed the new pool funding and which bank to use for the loan.

Director Klatzco moved to approve LaSalle State Bank as our choice lender for the pool project in accordance with the proposal submitted dated Au-gust 25, 2015. Director Singh seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Directors Kot, Singh, Bommersbach, Klatzco and Martel voted yes. Motion passed.

B. 2016 BudgetDirector Bommersbach provided a concept design drawing for the front guard house to include an automatic lift gate for members, citing the results of the 2013 strategic planning survey to improve our security. A quote has been received to complete this installation for under $10,000 and Director Bommersbach asked the Board to put this back into the 2016 Budget as a Capital expense. After discussion it was decided not to adjust and circu-late an amended 2016 Budget, but rather, look to utilize available funds already earmarked for Se-curity.

Director Klatzco moved to approve the budget of 2016 as published with the amended name of Secu-rity Systems (6115.22) and the amount of the pools

dues fund for 2016 to be $35.00. Director Kot sec-onded the motion. Roll call vote: Directors Bom-mersbach, Klatzco, Kot, Singh and Martel voted yes. Motion passed.

C. New Pool Plan Designer ContractDirector Klatzco moved to execute an agreement with architect George P. Kelly for the amount of $37,500.00 for design documents for the pool, bathhouse and equipment buildings. Director Kot seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Directors Klatzco, Kot, Singh, Bommersbach and Martel vot-ed yes. Motion passed.

D. Front Gate UpgradeDiscussed earlier.

E. Back Gate UpdateGeneral Manager Boyer reported that Justin has been working with Seiko to get their design right, Frontier has their equipment in and we will be put-ting in a new box to connect everything. Should be installed in a week to 10 days. The card issue has been resolved, we have cards available for the back gate now. The back gate will be the same, the cam-era will be working and the front gate will be able to see the vehicle, plate number and driver on the inbound side and will be able to communicate via the intercom.

F. By-Law Change RequestsGeneral Manager Boyer reported that we have heard from our attorney regarding voting on the By-Law requests that were submitted. She is seek-ing direction from the Board Attorney is saying that just because you submit a By-Law change, it is not required that it has to go to the membership for a vote, and that the 2013 By-Law that was approved but never recorded by previous Boards is invalid.She indicated that we need to do this right. By-Laws say you can call a Special Meeting at any time to vote on this, (with 30-day notice), if we don't have an answer in time for the Annual Meeting.

The Board instructed the General Manager to set up a closed session conference call with our attor-ney for next week.

G. Concession Stand ChangesTabled until the October Board meeting.

VIII. General Manager's ReportA. 2015 Budget UpdateB. 2015 Projects UpdateThe General Manager reported that they are on schedule and projects are going extremely well and she also reported on fall and winter projects. The Maintenance cleaning person will be retiring on October 1st. The position has not been filled yet.

IX. CommunicationsA. WrittenWritten communication was received from Robert Nenninger, Lot 1070, thanking the General Man-ager, Board and Community Relations Committee regarding waiving a ticket issued to a nurse that was coming to his home in an emergency situation.

B. From the FloorTina Sigsworth, Lot 185 - Mrs. Sigsworth read a letter addressing a ticket issued to them, the ap-peal process, a request for an extension and her treatment by the LWA staff. There was also a sec-ond ticket issued to them regarding their boat that Security said was on the water and did not have proper identification, except their boat has been in their garage for the past year. She would like the tickets voided. She would like it noted for the records, that she sent an email to the Board one month prior formally stating that she was not waiving her rights for an appeal just because they were unable to attend an appeal hearing due to the entire family being out of state, and she asked for either a continuance or a dismissal of the tickets.General Manager Boyer replied that she is not in-volved in the appeal process, appeals go to the Community Relations Committee for their deci-sion. She also stated that Joe Donnelly said there would not be extensions for an appeal hearing. The Redbook does not account for extensions. Director Martel added that the Board will be re-viewing appeal recommendations from the CRC today in Executive Session.

Marcie Myers, Lot 249 - Commented that a boil or-der sign should be placed where the work is being done. The phone line was cut, that is why the mem-bers affected were not called.

Wendy & Greg Koehler, Lots 512/513 - Would like to request a road to their property which they have owned for many years.General Manager responded if you intend to build and submit a building permit, we will put in a grav-el road which would have to set for at least a year. The member requested if a road could be installed before a building permit.Director Martel asked the General Manager to look into the costs involved.

Art Catrambone, Lot 97 - A couple of his family and a guest had received tickets for speeding. Could we get a sign that blinks to tell the speed limit?The General Manager answered that we have looked at such options, but the signs are very expensive. We will look again.

Art Catrambone, Lot 97 - A lot of people are going out the Gates that have lights on their golf carts and are getting tickets for being on the road after dark.Director Martel said it is hard to see golf carts on the hills even with lights. Our rules state if the ve-hicle is licensed and has lights, it is okay to be on the road after dark. Director Singh indicated that we intend to evaluate this rule, including consider-ation of a specific time rather than sunset so there might be less confusion.

Martin Sigsworth, Lot 185 - How many warning tickets are issued on this kind of violation? Seems like there is zero tolerance on speeding.Director Martel responded that the Rulebook dic-tates which Class, depending on what they are, some have warnings, some don't. The Redbook dic-tates that Speeding is an automatic ticket.

OLD BUSINESS: August issueDonna moved that the July 13th minutes be ap-proved. Terry seconded. Motion carried. Re: 4th of July -- Jackie described getting golf cart winners sorted out was tricky. We will ask for a description of the winning entries for the Sunbeam.

NEW BUSINESS: September issue - ColorThere were no Letters to the Editor. Speeding re-mains a major problem. This issue is usually de-voted to election information and photos -- there will be NO election as no Director applications were filed. The attorney is to advise regarding the bylaws submission. The Cover and photo space will be given to the successful Hog Roast Family Day. There were many favorable comments about our Photo Contest content and the Reception. Winning photos will appear in the October Sunbeam -- in color.

Proofing date was set for Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Committee discussed the Pancake Breakfast such as what time we were meeting and what people would be doing. Also, went over the list of items to make sure nothing was forgotten or overlooked. Prep work was being done.

Committee continued to discuss upgrading primi-tive sites to seasonal electric based on the waiting list for sights and the demand for seasonal elec-tric. Kristene said she would talk to Manager Boyer about what was left in our budget. In addition, the committee discussed putting together a proposal to send to the board at their next meeting for approval of upgrading 2 primitive sites to seasonal electric.

Reminder that first installment of same-site camp-ing fees are due by October 15. The amount is $362.50.

AgendaCall meeting to order: Time 8:04. Minutes of June 29th 2015 meeting: Approved by Keith Williams Seconded Ron Webster.

319 Grant Project Update Our surveyor Bill Shafer wants to be notified of the start date in order to put his markers into place. Pete and Joan will talk to Cliff Perrey at River City about start date schedule after the meeting. Mr. Perrey has previously explained to Joan that the wet spring and early summer has put all his work behind schedule.

Chris mentioned that a member was concerned about silt building up in a cove below a dry dam. The Committee verified that the investigation of the condition of the minor lake inlets (with or without dry dams) is already included in its long range plan.

Dredge and silt disposal permits were discussed and will be renewed with the state and EPA for ap-proval. Chris Martel as he has done in the past will assist with coordinating the permitting.

The Lake Tanglewood water quality issue was dis-cussed per email from a member living on Tangle-wood. Various forms of treatment for algae removal were discussed, chemical treatment, mechanical re-moval and aerators. The lake has been treated with chemical control but with limited success. Mechani-cal removal with rakes would be impractical. Aera-tors would require electricity for the compressors. It would take 5 aerators to obtain complete coverage

Treasurer’s ReportJoe Kot reported $182,599 owed to us for delin-quencies past and present.

Manager’s ReportJoan stated on the 319 Grant the State’s position is to “spend our money first.” The project is started - rocks are being hauled in and progress is being made. Collections are going well - the last of the collection letters are out for present dues owed. Judgements are in order for past due amounts. Joan is working on cost of collections vs. the mon-ey collected. AJ questioned recent tax sale status and results. Joan reported some information and collections are pending.

Reviewed August Over $100 Expenses. Reviewed August Financials. Craig questioned income for storage - Joan reported not all fees are in yet. Hog Roast and Concession Stand income and expense will be reviewed at the next meeting as well as gen-eral activity income and expense. Most categories will be adjusted as end of season projects and costs are completed.

Reviewed information on pool financing - lengthy discussion followed. Craig motioned to accept the proposal by LaSalle State Bank, seconded by Joanne. Motion passed unanimously. 20% down - 20 year loan with a fixed rate at 4.18% for 10 years then a review to refinance or pay off.

Next meeting is October 17, 2015 at 8 a.m. at the Office.

of the lake. We will be studying this issue and evalu-ate the potential solutions to it. Joan described the DNRs reaction to the condition for a lake the size of Tanglewood as normal and healthy.

After this discussion the committee decided to add to our budget spreadsheet item 1.4 for mainte-nance of Lake Tanglewood. In addition to control-ling algae we will budget for using the drag line for emptying basins A and B once every two years. We also discussed the benefit of adding a member from Lake Tanglewood to the Committee

2016-2025 Extended Look-ahead Planning/Capi-tal Expenditures ReviewIt was agreed to attempt to balance our spending by scheduling major project spending in years that we don't dredge. Scheduled Lake Wildwood Tour – Round Two will be at 6:30AM Sept 5 starting at the Marina.

The September meeting was scheduled to be a joint meeting with NRC at their time and place but we will likely have a heavy agenda next month. Pete will contact Trinidad to see if the joint meeting could be rescheduled for October.

Quorum Established.

Motion made by Kay Blonski to accept the minutes of August 4, 2015 and was seconded by Millie Kot — motion carried.

This years garage sale was a success. There were 30 families included and many people attended. It was suggested that next year we do not combine with another event. Will also have to make sure se-curity is about when the garage sale is over to make sure all leave the area when the sale is over.

The fish fry was a success one again and the menu of fish, macaroni and cheese, and coleslaw was re-ceived very well by those attending. We will con-tinue this type of menu for the fish fry in the future and just ask all to bring a dessert to pass and their own beverages to drink.

Autumn Fest was discussed and plans are under way. Adrienne has sent letters to Boggio’s and Tan-ners Orchards requesting pumpkin donations for the kids to be able to decorate that day. This year we will be in the pavilion, therefore, we have or-dered a tent to be set up and a bouncy house for the kids. We will offer either a sandwich and chips or a meal that day. Sandwich and chips will be $2.50 and the meal, which will include sides, will be at $4.00. We will purchase four large ice cream scoops for serving sides. We will have the beer tent, bags tournament, and bingo as always. We will provide coffee, any other beverage besides the beer, should be brought to the event; soda, lemonade, juice, etc. Bingo will be $0.10 per card and $0.50 per game. We hope to have music around 4:00 p.m.; Recre-ation is waiting on confirmation on the music. The committee will meet on September 21st to finalize preparation for Autumn Fest.

Halloween Trunk ‘r’ Treat will be held on Hallow-een (October 31st). Trunk ‘r’ Treat is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with the Halloween Bash immediately following in the lodge at 5:00pm

There will be hot dogs and chili and treats serve. We will ask that people donate a dessert to pass. There will be games and costume judging.

Christmas preparations are under way as the regis-tration will need to be in the October Sunbeam. All members are welcome to attend this event. We will be asking all to register along with any children in order to get an idea of how many we will be serv-ing. We will have more information in the paper and online for this event.

New Year’s Eve is also under way. The menu is planned and registration will begin starting with the October Sunbeam and online. More to come by the next meeting as we are working on the menu and music at this time.

Next regular Recreation meeting will be Monday, October 5, 2015. A motion was made by Millie Kot and seconded by Kay Blonski to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.

George Kelly architect is recommended for the de-sign and create bid for project. He will provide gen-eral services during the construction.

Reviewed Plans created suggested changes:• Assess janitor hallway for size and access (cur-rent only 3ft). May want to use this area for future storage.• Move hot water heater.• Floor textured concrete. • Men’s bath: add second stool. • Combine First aid and guard office in women’s. Create small storage area to accommodate addi-tion of stool. • Storage would still open deck with doors that could be kept open during operation days.• Make sure there is room for storage off deck for the pool vacuum. Consider in wall vacuum. • Exterior: Durable vinyl siding. • Consider making the access panels at bath en-trances are removable for gaining access to storage in the winter. • Guard office needs desk, internet and phone. • Wall AC for Guard Office. • Base wall split faced CMU. • Colors: Earth tones.• Roof: Consider cost of steel shingles vs. tradition-al. Will need to determine if steel roof is a danger for lightening. • East side of picnic area will need many electrical outlet to support multiple vending machines. • Ensure accessible electrical outlets throughout the pool for public usage. • Pool permanent umbrellas need to be durable with high wind conditions. Current drawing does not have enough shaded area. • Life guard chairs could be movable but need to have good sun shade coverage.• Pump house (20x30). Consider the cost of dou-bling the pump house for extra storage. • Textured concrete for pool deck surface. • For shallow entrance, ensure railing for bathers. • Removable handicap lift. • No built in landscaping as the buffer between pools. • Decorative fence between pools.• Include external PA system for announcement. • Some type pool lighting (energy efficient) for night operations.• Internal pool lighting in kiddie pool needs to be multi-color changing. • Movable slide in kiddie pool.

Members Present: Trinedad G., Matt B., Art C., Tom S., and Lee S. Meeting held at the marina. 2016 stocking will be announced once shocking report comes back to NRC. I spoke with Joe today and he stated he would have it to us in the next two weeks - should be ready for our October joint meet-ing with Lakes and Dams. Date to follow.

2016 continue with adding structure to lake in multiple ways based on class, Art attending.

We would encourage members to get involved with NRC, currently looking for additional members. Anyone who would like input on crib and structure location contact NRC via email. NRC requesting 6 pallets of block be delivered before road closes: 3 at marine and 3 at dam.

Requesting members for Christmas trees to be put by Dam or Marine again this year. Adjust creel lim-its for Large and small mouth bass to catch and re-lease until population gets better.

We encourage fallen trees remain in lake as along as it does not impact your use of lake front prop-erty, trees are great structure.

• Bait - only use minnows which have been pur-chased from a reputable bait shop. Never put any unused minnows back into the lake. Never use any minnows which have been netted from an outside body of water on the LWW lakes as you could be in-troducing unwanted and dangerous species of fish into the lake.• Power wash the underside of your boat and mo-tor anytime you have used it on an outside body of water before returning to the lake to be sure that you are not introducing any unwanted fish or veg-etation into the lake.• Do not introduce any vegetation or fish from any outside body of water into either of our lakes. Both lakes are balanced ecosystems and you can cause great harm to the lakes. Do not take fish from ei-ther Tanglewood or Wildwood and put them in the other lakes as well.• Become familiar with the creel limits as well as how to identify each species of fish.• Remove any carp caught on either lakes. They can produce more than one million eggs and can cause severe problems on our lakes.

The Association lodge will be closed from the week-end of Labor Day (Sunday, September 6th) through October 24th for construction and maintenance around the lodge. The original closing was set in August through September, however these dates had to be pushed back due to scheduling conflicts. Annual Rummage SaleThe Varna Women's Club will hold its annual rum-mage sale at the Varna Fire/Ambulance building, located just off Route #17 on South Chestnut Street in Varna (look for the signs). The Varna Women's Club Members met on Wednes-day, September 10. Megan Olt, Director of Sight Center Programs in Morton, IL, presented a pro-gram reviewing and commenting on home safety modification suggestions. Since sight dims as we age, measures can be taken to modify the home, inside and out with hand rails, ramps, flooring, lighting, flooring and grab bars. Mrs. Olt has a grant to aid persons with sight issues in Marshall County. Her phone number is 309-291-0573.

To benefit our Scholarship funds, a Rummage Sale will take place Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th. The sale is held at the Varna Fire and Ambulance Building. Flyers will be posted October 1st.

Managing a lakes aquatic community provides an-glers with a diverse, high quality fishing opportu-nity. A multitude of factors are taken into account when developing a management plan. Fishing pres-sure, fish habitats, food availability, and reproduc-tive success are among some of the most critical aspects that directly contribute to the angling expe-rience. Establishing creel limits is arguably the most important management tool in promoting a healthy population of fish to achieve this goal.

Surveying the lake is an integral part of establish-ing those creel limits. By utilizing the method of electro shocking we can collect the information necessary for developing management plans that are tailored to enhance the fishing potential of Lake Wildwood. The creel limits are established on the basis of the data collected. These limits let an-glers know how many fish per species that they are allowed to harvest in a day. These limits allow for healthy natural reproduction; reduce fish mortal-ity rates, and allow more anglers the opportunity to participate in the harvesting of the lakes most precious resource.

Anglers ranging from novice to experienced should all understand how to read creel limits. It has re-cently been discovered that not everyone fishing our waters fully understand how to accurately read the creel limits. Specifically with the Slot Limit. Slot Length Limits: Any fish between the designated length limit is to be returned to the water imme-diately. For example a species of fish slotted from 16” to 18” should be returned to the water imme-diately if the length of the fish falls between these two measurements. Keeping fish above 18” or below 16” is acceptable. This type of regulation is most ef-fective for species exhibiting high rates of natural reproduction and recruitment combined with slow growth rates. This type of limit reduces the density of smaller fish, improves growth rates and increases the size and structure of the population.

Minimum Length Limits: Any fish under the estab-lished length limit is to be returned to the water immediately. For example If the creel limit for a species is 16” then any fish caught of that specie’s that is less than 16” is to be returned to the water This limit is most commonly used to protect fish until they reach sexual maturity, or to allow fish to

attain a quality or trophy size.

Catch and Release Only: This is an important management technique that protects fish that can-not withstand harvest or are playing an integral role in the management of fish population.Do Not Release: This is an important management technique for reducing or eliminating unwanted species of fish. For example carp, drum, and large gizzard shad are species that can damage the eco-system by applying unwanted competition for food, habitats, and water quality.Closed Seasons: This is used to help protect fish during their spawning seasons. If a given area puts a closed season into action an angler is not allowed to fish for this species during the specified time of the year.

Almost as soon as one photo contest ends, plan-ning begins for the next year’s event.

The Sunbeam Committee had plans well on their way; contacting judge, tweaking entry forms, and picking issues in which these forms should appear. Then we learned of construction needing to be done at the lodge. Our usual Labor Day weekend reception would not be possible.

With coordination from Lake Wildwood manage-ment, a new earlier date was chosen and the Sun-beam committee members revved their engines to make sure that the 2015 Photo Contest was a suc-cess.

of Lacon and Bob Summitt from Summitt’s Photo-raphy in Henry, agreed to volunteer their servicesfor the new date. And once again, Nancy Dunagan graciously agreed to play her beautiful harp during the reception.

The committee had all the pieces in place. Only one thing concerned us. Would the date change affect participation or attendance numbers? We shouldn’t have worried. You, our wonderful, tal-ented Lake Wildwood photographers also made the needed adjustments and wowed us with your enthusiastic participation.

71 photographs in 5 different categories covered a wide range of subject matter, technique and artis-tic vision. The judges did not have an easy time

choosing winners because of the overall high qual-ity of the photographs. We were gratified by the at-tendance at the night’s reception. As a committee we received many compliments regarding all facets of the event. Thank you for supporting our efforts and being so very kind.

A special thank you to all of the photographers who allowed us to showcase your artistic vision. We hope to see your work again in the 2016 Photo Contest and invite all Association members and their families to join in the fun.

We would like to thank all of the individuals who made the Family Fun Day Hog Roast so successful. From the kids games, to the bags tournament everything was incredible. The food was amazing and everything fl owed well. What a way to bring our community together and celebrate. We hope the committ ee consid-ers hosting this again from many years to come.

I att ended the Saturday Financial Committ ee meeting, Sept. 12, 2015, in which there were three members present, which included the board member who re-tained his seat, and three other board members. The Chairman, who lives fi ve hours away in Indiana, att ended by conference phone. How can the Chair do his fi duciary duty when he lives ten hours round trip from this Association?

The board at the last meeting chose to dismiss me from the fi nance committ ee. When the Chair asked for a motion to dismiss me from the committ ee, no one made a motion. He then stated that he would resign. The board then contacted

him and he stated that he would stay only if they dismissed me. He also stated that he was too stressed, (perhaps the 10 hour round trip he makes stressed him out) and that I was disruptive and asked too many questions. Since then, several people have commented, why were the questions not answered?

I do know how to read the fi nancial reports, I am well versed on the red book and blue book (the rules and covenants of this Association) but due to a person-ality clash, I was dismissed.

Does this set a precedent that when one member complains about another, this leads to a dismissal? How can a VOLUNTEER, taking so many personal hours and working hard for the members then lose their position when we have so few willing to do so?

Thank you to the Marshall County "911" dispatcher, Magnolia Fire/EMS, Illinois State Police, Lake Wildwood Security, and the many other volunteer off duty EMS and fi refi ghters who answered my "911" call on August 18th.

A worker cutt ing down a huge tree on our property became trapped under the downed tree. Magnolia Fire was fi rst on the scene in less than 10 minutes, fol-lowed by the rapid response of all the others. The worker was transported to and discharged later that evening from St. Margaret's hospital.

I am grateful for the timely and professional response from all. It's very reas-suring to know that when help is needed in an emergency situation here at the lake, rapid response can be counted on.

I thank and commend all of you who choose to "serve and protect."

Many times I have been tempted to write a lett er to the editor, but was too in-decisive (lazy), or didn't want to cause negative concerns. This time I think it is positive and hopefully helpful.

About 12 years ago we built a home for Mike and Staci Blew on Deer Valley Drive and they started to raise a family of 3 boys. In the summer you may have seen the boys walking to the pool, basketball court, or Mike may have done plumbing or heating at your house as he works for Grasser's.

A few years ago Staci was stricken with cancer and fought it off , now it has re-turned and the benefi t poster (included in the Sunbeam ads) for her tells how serious this could be. I also realize that this has happened to some of our loved ones or friends.

I wanted to put this in the Sunbeam because Lake Wildwood is spread over 1,400 acres with over 1,600 members, approx. 500 homes, full-time, weekend, summer, and camping members, and daily recreational members. Therefore we don't always know our neighbors because of location or time constraints, but the common thing is we are all members of Lake Wildwood community. I would like to ask all of you by att ending this fundraiser or sending a donation or just a note-email showing our support as a community will help lift Staci and her families spirits.

It is gratifying to know that honest people are very much a part of our com-munity.

On Sunday, August 30, my daughter's backpack fi lled with her clothes and a Samsung tablet must have fallen out of our golf cart and onto the street. A kind stranger found it and brought it to the guardhouse where Seth (thank you!) did some detective work, fi gured out who it belonged to, and tracked us down.

To whomever found that backpack, we are deeply grateful for your act of kind-ness.

Staci Knack Blew is a wife, mother of 3 boys and nurse from Lake Wildwood. Af-ter being treated for Stage 3 Breast Can-cer in 2012, Staci received the shocking diagnosis of Leukemia in July 2015 and was admitted to OSF for a 40+ day stay for intensive chemotherapy. Doctors have now told Staci that she has Stage IV Breast Cancer that has spread to her bones. Please come out and support the Blew family as we raise funds to help with their medical and travel costs as they continue to battle against this horrible disease.

Key Issuance PolicyKeys may be signed out to members for access to the following facilities: West Beach Restrooms and Emergency Equipment Cabinet, East Beach Restrooms and Emergency Equipment Cabinet, Tennis Courts, Lodge, Fish Cleaning Disposal and Campground Equipment Shed.

Members signing out keys are responsible for use and re-securing the area.

Please visit the DNR website online to renew your watercraft registration.

Materials for the Sunbeam must be submitted no later than the 15th of each month to be included in the following month's paper.
