Transcript of Nothing Lasts Forever
we write to remember.
we write to record.
we write to communicate.
some write for fun.
some write to earn a living.
some write to make sense of themselves.
we all write.
at school
at work
at home
online
consciously
and unconsciously as well
we write everywhere
on paper
on hand
on the typewriter
on the word processor
on the world wide web
on fogged up windows
on birthday cakes
on sand
on the bathroom wall
on your cellular phone
on your PDA
on your favorite t-shirt
writing is everywhere
a written text becomes a record
records can be archived
you can keep it or destroy it
but without your conscious effort
unless you keep track
one day it will be gone
lost in garbage
decompose in time
washed away
expire and get deleted
worn out and no longer visible
accidentally and deliberatelyterminated
become obsolete
and unintelligible
having no value
making no sense
we still write
and we will always write
it is to get the message across
whether it is a fleeting thought
an eternal promise
wisdom over the ages
an urgent notice
a genius idea
or private emotions
writing delivers the message
at times more effectively than speech
and at times more straight-forward than a
piece of drawing
But still
A writing is not permanent
and it should not be permanent
because the world keeps changing
and our thoughts keep evolving
change is vital
change is inevitable
and change is only natural
because nothing lasts forever
