The Two Witnesses

The Beast

(Rev 11:7-10) And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that

ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall

overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and

nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that

dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to

another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

(Rev 11:7-13) And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street

of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the

people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not

suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make

merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. And

after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and

great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and

their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of

heaven.

A. The PURPOSE

of this showdown

The Beast wants to “overcome them”• Translated to conquer or destroy

The Beast wants to “kill” them • There is a specific way they die

(Rev. 20:4)

(Rev 20:4) And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and

judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the

word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand

years.

Immorality in the Bible

• Egypt is the reference to Idolatry in the Bible

(1Co 6:9-11) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the

kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with

mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall

inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our

God.

Jerusalem.

C. The PUBLICITY

of this showdown

There death and bodies will be seen throughout the whole world live on CNBC, FOX, MSNBC CSPAN and CNN

Most commentaries that were written 50 years ago or more Had a hard time interpreting this verse.

One said “There is no way the whole world could see at one time after all the journey from Babylon was 3.5 days”

Another said “That it was just referring to the people against Christ”

Notice that the whole world is making Merry and exchanging gifts. This could be a reference to the time of year.

None the less, this is time of celebration. WHY IS THAT CRAZY?

If these people think that the Beast is Christ. Who will they think is the 2 witnesses?

D. The PRODUCT

of this showdown

(Rev 11:11) And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God

entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell

These men will be raptured out along with those that are in Petra and all other believers of the tribulation

Notice the difference of their rapture and ours.• Theirs is seen by all • Theirs is on a cloud

(Rev 11:13) And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the

tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven

thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God

of heaven.

After the rapture of the 2 witnesses and the trib. Saints , God begins to shake the place.

Remember the crucifixion of the Lord?

7,000 are dead in that city

The remnant were freaked out and attribute the whole scene to God.
