Preparation: Please logon SIP server, and go to the folder shown in the picture below to

download the Vista Tool CD v5.3 image. http://sip.asus.com/document/DownloadDocumentFile.aspx?file_id=31133

Instruction:1. Unzip BT.zip file, and copy BT.exe utility to a bootable USB dongle2. Boot up to DOS mode with the dongle3. Type the command in DOS prompt à bt /w 27 XX

Where XX is Vista SKU code, please refer to the following table to choose the code based on the Vista version you intend to install.

Example. if you want to install Vista Home Premium (32bit), please use the command: bt /w 27 43

4. Then finally update the system with latest BIOS.



Rebuilding Vista hidden partition:

Step1:Find a notebook that has Windows operating system, boot up Windows, and unzip xxx.zip compressed file into “C:\”.

Step2:Insert the correct model Driver CD of the targeted NB, under C:\xxx enter pqa.bat, and this will create a driver.pqa file to the folder C:\xxx.

NOTE: ODD drive must be set as “e:\”, if not please configure it in control panel other wise error will be expected.



Step3:Copy driver.pqa file into an external HDD or burn the driver.pqa file into an empty disc.

Step4:Insert and boot up the system by Tool CD v5.3

Step5:When DOS box prompt appears, please type command “create_hidden” and input the partition size 7GB (7,000MB)

Step6:After formatting, take out Tool CD and put Vista RCD in , and copy ASUS.SWM and ASUS2.SWM files to “S:\” ( hidden drive )



Step7:Remove Vista RCD, copy driver.pqa (either from external HDD or disc containing the driver.pqa ) file into C:\fac directory.

Step8:Under the directory of C:\fac, create a file of “os.tag” by the following command.Enter copy con os.tag, press Enter twice then press “Ctrl + Z”Then press Enter to complete.

Step9:Please press “Exit” to reboot the system and start to install the OS

Step10:When screen show “Pass”, it is finished. Press power button to shut down your system.
