Why should I take notes from texts?

• Good notes can reduce 20-30 pages of text to 3-4 pages of notes.

• The notes are mostly in your own words, they are familiar and easy to understand.

• Reviewing your notes will alert you to points that you don’t yet fully understand & guide you to extra reading.

• Organization of your notes (major and minor topics) will help you anticipate exam questions.

• Make it easier for you to write your responses to exam questions.
