a person who is registered as a GraduateArchitect shall be required to obtain suchpractical experience as may be prescribedby the Board and to pass the examinations asmay be determined by the Board in order tobe entitled to apply for registration as aProfessional Architect.
the following persons shall be entitled on application to be registered asProfessional Architects : any person who
(i) is a Graduate Architect;
(ii) has obtained the practical experience as prescribed by the Board andpassed the examinations as may be determined by the Board
(iii) is a Corporate Member of the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia or hasobtained a qualification which the Board considers to be equivalent
thereto.

Those who have obtained qualifications recognized by LAM andPAM are exempted from the Part I & II examination.The Part 3 Examination is mandatory for every would-be architect.Upon passing the Part 3 Examination, one may become a member ofPAM and register with LAM as an Architect.

The Board of Architects Malaysiais a statutory authority responsible for theenforcement of the Architects Act 1967.
The functions of the Board are provided under the Section 4(1) of the aforesaidAct which includes the following :
Registration of Professional Architects, Architects and Building Draughtsmen;
Registration of architectural consultancy practices;
Regulation of their conduct and ethics;
Conducting examinations for admission to the profession;
Accreditation of architectural programmes;
Development and Promotion of the profession;
Representing the architectural profession in any matter at local andinternational levels.

To enable the Board to carry out its statutory duties effectively in enforcing the
provisions of the Architects Act 1967, the Minister of Works has appointed Professional
