3. The differences in th e conditions o f releases in Class A a n d Class B are now as follows ::—

(а) Class A. F ifty-six days’ resettlem ent leave. I f th ey have no jobs tow hich to re tu rn , th e em ploym ent exchanges will give th em every assistance in finding em ploym ent and w ill no t, during th e period in w hich th ey are receiving regular Service paym ents, regard th em as subject to any powers o f direction which are otherw ise generally operative.

(б) Class B. Tw enty-one days’ transfer leave. T hey will be directed toth e ir reconstruction em ploym ents an d th is will preserve th e ir re insta te ­m ent rights. T hey will be liable to be recalled individually to th e Forces if th ey discontinue their reconstruction em ploym ent.

4. In connection w ith parag raph 3 (6), in order to clarify th e position of persons nom inated for block release in Class B, th e following is to be brought to th e ir notice :—

The individual will, a fte r release, be d irected b y th e M inistry o f L abour to th e appropria te em ploym ent. Subject to any exceptional requirem ents o f national reconstruction, direction will be to em ploym ent near the indiv idual’s hom e, if suitable em ploym ent is available an d to his form er em ployer if th e em ployer has a su itable vacancy on w ork of national reconstruction o f th e k ind for which th e individual has been released.

5. Persons who have elected n o t to be released in Class B are to be given th e o pportun ity o f reconsidering their decision in th e changed circumstances.

6. W hen an officer or ra tin g accepts release in Class B his dispersal is to be expedited. W hen a ra tin g elects n o t to be released in Class B a tten tio n is called to th e necessity fo r forw arding w ithout delay Form s S.161R in accordance w ithB .R . 1281(1), Release Instructions, parag raph 63 ; reports by signal are no t required for ratings.
