Transcript of Not In Here

Parents who smoke can help their young children have fewer colds and ear infections, just by not smoking in the home or car. - It's that simple.

By taking the pledge, I choose to help my child and community thrive. I choose to not smoke in my home or car and will not allow others to do so, because:

• Smoking in confined spaces, like the home or car, increases the intensity of secondhand smoke exposure.

• Children are especially vulnerable to the health effects of secondhand smoke.

• Opening a window or the vents will not protect anyone from the danger of secondhand smoke.

Tear off this reminder pledge to post in your car or home.

I, , pledge to protect my family from secondhand smoke by making my home and car smoke-free.

When trusted adults act in the best interest of children,

their child’s physical, emotional and relational health

grows stronger. This leads to stronger, healthier and

safer communities.

Unfortunately, as they grow older, many children

dealing with crisis or life issues try to cope using

damaging behaviors: tobacco, alcohol, drugs.

But wait, there’s hope. When children see adults

they trust making healthy decisions, children routinely

thrive. When children thrive, communities thrive.

Will you choose to keep your home and car

smoke-free, and help your child thrive?
