A BIG thank you to all for your support to Christian Lamphere’s 9/11 Eagle Scout project. I hope you will continue to follow his progress and come out on 9/11 to see the final presentation at City Hall. A BIG THANK YOU to Patty Redlich not only for all she has accomplished during her tenure as Orange County Committeewoman speaking to our group but, also for the forth rightness and work to see the next generation as our future. We learned so much from her presentation and realized that Patty’s energy was exceedingly successful in her position this past four years. Thank you to all who have followed up with William Sexauer ( [email protected] ) and Dirk Vanderpol of RFD Region 20 ([email protected]) and are now making calls, or volunteering in some special activity. Please contact them if you have ideas, questions or want to volunteer in specific ways!!! Thank you for those who received a list to call. They will be glad to help you work a “register to vote event”. They are agents. They need our help and support. Now on to next month’s September meeting you will not want to miss!!!! It is the Village’s ladies with their VERY STRONG PROGRAM…”MISSION 2016/Stop Hillary” will be our guest speaker. They have been very active for over a year now. Their brochures and materials are wonderful. Hope all of you have purchased your tickets for BIG RED DAY!!!! AND BRINGING FRIENDS. SEE YOU AT THE NEXT MEETING AND BIG RED DAY!!!................ Let’s make it a success!!! Charlotte White 1st Vice President President's Message Dear Members, By time you read this message the August 30th primary will be over and we will know the winners who move on to November. We can now focus on our chosen Republican candidates. Before this date we could not endorse one candidate over another when there was more than one Republican in a race. After August 30th it will be all hands on deck for the winners of the primary. Our local campaign office should be open and in full swing. God willing I will be able to put some time in to help get our Republican candidates elected. Have you signed up to work? A key issue is to motivate our Republican super voters to make the effort to "CAST THEIR VOTE". The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) is spending every working moment going from county to county in order to turn it red. Their work is beginning to payoff. They need our help. Getting the vote out is the key to success in November. A message from Dena DeCamp, President of FFRW: Don't forget to save the date - November 11 -13 in Altamonte Springs for our Fall Board Meeting. All Presidents should attend, and we encourage the members and board members of your clubs to attend, there will be something for everyone. A reminder: Ways & Means needs you. Our BIG RED DAY is fast approaching and Charlotte White is looking for you contact her to donate auction and door prize items. I promise this to be a really great fun day. Be there! Second Vice President's Message

We have added one new regular member, Mitzi Hahn. Please give her and all our other new members a warm welcome.

Please invite lots of prospective members to our next Regular Meeting and our Directly-following Big Red Day fashion show, luncheon and auction. Remember, our membership contest is ongoing."

Sharon Lee Gates 2nd Vice President

This month we welcome guest speaker, Marina Woolcock, President of RFWTV, on “What Will Defeat Hillary Clinton.” Mary Tripp, co-author and researcher, of their brochure “From Women to Women” will join Marina, and together, they will engage women in a "how to win" with

their brochure. The brochure was developed as part of the mission of Federated Women,  to make informed educated political decisions, with accurate document information and resources. They will discuss the various avenues available to all of us...using their brochure as the resource to convince women why they should not vote for "the first woman" to receive a nomination by a major party... Marina Woolcock, who hails from Buffalo, New York, has followed her dream of making a difference within the structure of Government, politics and community service.  Starting in 1977  as "room mother" for the local PTA, she went on to become President of the local chapter and was elected,  in 1981, to The State PTA Board of Directors as the New York State Legislative Chair.  She has been active in many Veteran organizations and for the last 10 years, has served as a member of the Erie County Board of Directors of the Naval and Military Park, in Buffalo, New York.  She put her lobbying skills and knowledge of the military together and served as Chair of the "War of 1812 Celebration Committee", hosting the United States Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy to celebrate 200 years of peace with a visit Buffalo New York.  Marina worked for the Assembly and Senate on the Education Committees in both houses of the New York State Legislature and as Chief of Staff for the only woman, at that time, elected as a Republican, to the New York State Senate. In 1994 she  formed and became president of a new lobbying business, a local lobbying firm with a goal of making Western New York's voice heard in Albany and Washington DC. Western. She served as President until 1999, working on issues for community based organizations, health care and homeland security issues. In 2006 Marina moved to  The Villages, Florida where she continued her involvement in political activities by joining The Republican Federated Women of The Villages.  She was elected President of the organization, and then Chaired The Mission 2016 Committee developing a program to make women aware of who they should not vote for in the  2016 Presidential Elections,  ”From Women to Women About a Women", an effort to get women educated when they vote in the Presidential elections. In 2014 she was appointed by Governor Rick Scott, to serve on the Florida Elderly Advisory Committee. She was re-elected as President of the RFWTV, in 2016, to complete the term of retiring President Joanne Cooper. Marina has one son, Lt. Colonel Bret Woolcock, who with his family, were stationed in New Delhi, India and has recently returned to the US after a three year tour of duty.

I am excited to share that our pictorial directory has been completed and uploaded to our NORWF.org website. This has been a fun project and I really enjoyed getting to know each of you better through the process. The user ID and password information to access the directory will be shared at the September meeting. I cannot emphasize how it important it is that this information is used for NORWF business only and that each member use sound practices to keep this sensitive personal information safe and secure.

As our membership continues to grow, having a living, breathing membership directory will go a long way towards welcoming our new members. Having a directory will also foster an open door atmosphere and a sense of community amongst our members. Thank you to everyone who participated in meeting our goal.

Words From The Heart by Chaplain Nancy Oakley: Maintaining motivation requires a positive attitude. Stay positive and your life will always be a happy one.

FROM THE DESK OF NFRW PRESIDENT CARRIE ALMOND

Fall is approaching and, with it, the 2016 campaign season kicks into high gear.

I know our NFRW women around the country will be in the thick of things - rallying with Rosie, working the phones, knocking on doors,

emailing and writing letters to the editor. And every time you do, I hope you are keeping track of your campaign volunteer hours.

In the 2014 cycle, NFRW members reported over 4.2 million volunteer hours. That's such an impressive number that it produces an audible gasp when I mention it at rallies and in speeches.

Even 4.2 million just scratches the surface. Many of us are so busy campaigning we don't take the time to record our hours. Please make time. There is no understating how important this metric is to our credibility as an organization.

Everything you need to know is on the Campaign Awards Form on the NFRW website. Yes, AWARDS. Nothing motivates women like awards, and the NFRW gives awards to top-performing states in six categories. We will also recognizes the top volunteer in each state at our biennial convention in Philadelphia next year. Perhaps it will be you.

Thanks for all your great work, and I hope to see you on the trail ahead.

Carrie

Your personal action guide to register new voters:

Contact your family, friends, neighbors and Internet friends. Reach out to conservative Republicans: - youngsters who recently became 18 years old. - people who recently moved - citizens who have never voted or have not voted recently. - nursing home residents. http://dos.myflorida.com/elections/for-voters/voter-registration/register-to-vote-or-update-

Encourage Republicans to vote with Absentee Ballots. - Youngsters away at college having fun with voting the last

thing on their minds. - Elderly, disabled and nursing home residents. - Military overseas or away from home. - Working people who may not have time to vote on

election day. - Voters who may be out of town on vacation, business, etc.

Why this is important. In addition to insuring voting in expected and unexpected events, it will reduce the number of phone calls and door knocking our volunteers will have to make. This will allow them more time to concentrate on voters who have not yet voted. Voters will benefit by not getting so many get out the vote phone calls because most campaigns track votes online. Your registration is not complete until your signed application form is either postmarked or received in a mandated registration site, such as our office, a public library or Driver License Office. Deadlines apply to new registrations and political party affiliation changes, so plan accordingly. The last day to Register To Vote for the General Election is October 11, 2016.
