SustainNU is a University-wide program that aims to engage students, faculty, and staff in reducing and eventually eliminating Northwestern’s contribution to climate change. In doing so, we will lead the way toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. SustainNU has a goal to increase our campus waste diversion rate to 50% by 2020. This will be done by increasing waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and composting over landfill disposal. This effort is rooted in partnership, and we encourage our campus community to integrate sustainability into all catered events. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE POLICY It is the policy of Northwestern University to not bring alcoholic beverages on the premises unless the alcohol is provided by a licensed caterer. All personnel servicing a bar have completed the Illinois Basset Alcohol Certification Program. All beverages are to remain within the facility. EVENT POLICIESFull Service Events & Celebrations We offer a full range of service catering and event coordination. Northwestern Catering is able to provide everything necessary for your event including customized menus, bar service, setup and service, rentals, entertainment and support services. For a customized full service event, please contact our Catering Sales team.

Ordering & Terms of AgreementWhen booking your function, please have all pertinent information. This includes but is not limited to: specific room or outdoor location, event delivery and pick up time, number of guests and any specialty set or menu notes available. Please arrange for tables and room setup prior to your event.

Northwestern Catering does not make room reservations. All rooms in the University Center are booked through the reservations office at: Norris Event Planning [email protected] 847-491-2333

• All events for fewer than 100 guests should be planned and confirmed with the Catering Officeat least five business days prior to the event. Arrangements for events with more than 100 guestsshould be made at least two weeks prior to the event.

• Served meals are for a minimum of 20 guests. Buffets are for a minimum of 20 guests.If your group is smaller, please contact the Catering Office for availability and pricing.

• Lunch prices are only valid until 3 p.m.

Confirming your order Orders are confirmed by email or fax with a credit card payment or established billing terms. Changes or cancellations are required 72 hours prior to event time, Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged in full.

Cancellations & Weather Policy Cancellations of food services must be made two business days prior to the event. Cancellations after this period will result in charges of not less than 50 percent of the total invoice.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of any function will be billed at 100 percent of the total invoice.

In the event of inclement weather, if the University is open, all confirmed events will proceed as scheduled.

Service Staff and AttendantsTo ensure that your event is a success, catering staff is offered for all catered events for a nominal charge.

Attendants/Waitstaff $155.00 (minimum 4 hours of service)Station Chefs $160.00 (minimum 4 hours of service)Bartenders $160.00 (minimum 4 hours of service)

Should you require service staff and/or attendants for additional hours beyond the first four hours of service, an additional $35.50 per staff, per hour, will be applied to your billing.

If You Are A Tax-Exempt Organization:You must submit a copy of your tax-exempt certificate prior to the date of your scheduled event.

The cost to replace any missing or damaged catering equipment or supplies will be charged to your account. For very large events, specialty equipment may need to be rented at an additional charge.

China ChargesWe provide high quality plastic serviceware as our standard; both eco-friendly serviceware and china is available upon request for a nominal charge. Northwestern catering can also service any event requiring china service outside of Norris at an additional charge by calling our catering office.
