Main 248-347-1642 The holidays will be here before you know it; and we‘re ready to help! "The Gallery's" kickoff to the 2011 holidays is November 11th when we will be ready to show off our holiday attire during Northville's annual Girls' Night Out. We'll be stocked with every- thing you need to make your holiday a little bit easier - from entertaining guests to decorating your home to finding the perfect gift for that someone special. Join us on Friday evening, November 4th, during our monthly First Friday Experience with an opportunity to meet our featured artist Jim Ritchie and gather ideas for holiday gift giving. Bring your friends and make a night of it.

Artist State- ment: Jim Ritchie A native of Northville, Michigan, I am a self-taught photographer. My work is a visual expres- sion of my in-

terest in and appreciation of the art of automotive de- sign; landscapes; and historic architecture, subjects

and events. My photographs have been published on the cover of the book BODIE: The Mines Are Looking Well... by Michael H. Piatt, in calendars, appeared on soda la- bels, and illustrated newspaper articles and web sites across the country and around the world.

While I have used both film and digital cam- eras, all photo- graphs are proc- essed in the digi- tal darkroom. The decision to convert to digital processing and printing was made because it

provides complete quality control, and is efficient due to minimal setup time. There is no expensive lab equipment to maintain, nor any toxic chemicals to clean up or dispose of. Images are only adjusted to produce the best exposure, color, contrast, and crop- ping. Some subjects, though, are candidates for fur- ther interpretation, and may be converted to black & white, duotones, and / or artistically rendered using digital tools. Please visit our website, for additional images of Jim Ritchie‘s photographs.

We look forward to seeing you on November 4th at the next First Friday Experience.
