ROOBY ROO This week, Mrs Nolan completed a wonderful wall painting to add to our ‘Rooby Roo Reading Verandah’. It has been mounted on the wall between Mrs Bowen’s and Ms Le Breton’s rooms. It is a large scene of Australian animals and flowers with of course, a huge kangaroo! We would like to ‘THANK’ Mrs Nolan for her time and enthusiasm in volunteering to paint this wonderful art piece and really making the ‘Rooby Roo Verandah’ the warm, friendly special reading place that it is now becoming. At the same time, we need to ‘THANK’ Mr Tanswell for quickly attaching the painting to the wall so everyone can see and appreciate it. Don’t forget that there will be a teacher reading every Tuesday morning at 9.40am. Join the reading mat, take a cushion, cuddle a toy and listen to a story. It is a special time to share with friends and classmates. Little brothers and sisters are very welcome, too!

Rooby Roo will be coming soon to read her birthday book. Watch out for the DATE!

KIDSMATTER

Coming - JELLY DAY! On the Monday of the last week of school (16th December, 2013) we will be holding the last fundraising event for the year for KIDSMATTER. After our Cake Day we were overwhelmed with the response and generosity of donations from the families of Norths.

This time we are asking for donations of jelly packets and empty 4 litre ice cream containers so we can make and then serve jellies in a cup on the day. Cold storage is the issue and that is the reason we have opted to make jellies up in the ice cream containers as they will stack well. Please leave donations with your classroom teacher.

COFFEE & CHAT The next ‘Coffee & Chat’ will be held in the Connected Classroom on the 20th November, 2013 at 1.00pm. We are very lucky to have Jane Cotter Educational Outreach, Senior Education Consultant from ASPECT (www.autismspectrum.org.au) as the guest speaker. We welcome any one who has an interest in autism and feels they might learn or benefit from listening to Jane and she will be offering a question time.

CANTEEN AND BREAKFAST PROGRAM The Canteen and Breakfast Program will closing for 2013 on Thursday 5 December 2013. Thank you to all of our volunteers, your time has been very much appreciated.

STEWART HOUSE CLOTHING APPEAL Stewart House is holding a clothing appeal. If you have any clothes that you don’t need and would like to donate them, please return the full bag back to the school office by Tuesday 19 November.
