The community-based, comprehensive boundary study is tasked with meeting the following key objectives:
• Reduce overcrowding in the region.
• Create viable, successful boundaries to effectively utilize the added capacity at the new northeast area elementary school and the other schools involved in the study.
• Support diversity among schools that reflects the community and the school system.

• Special permission transfer will be approved during the first year of aboundary change for students currently enrolled in Grades 4-5, 7-8, or11-12 of the school affected by a change in attendance area, andstudents express their wish to remain in the school through theirterminal grade.
• If a student who meets the criteria above has a sibling currently enrolledin the affected school, the sibling will be given the option of remaining inthe affected school through his/her terminal grade.

• The Oakleigh ES satellite area has been removed in both Options 7 and 8.
• PB 16, within the walkable area of Carney ES remains at Carney ES.
• New ES zone is more compact and does not span as far south.
• Schools on the southern end of the study area are impacted less, with the thought that they will/could get further relief with future school construction projects.
