Strategies for Learning about Educational Opportunities in North Carolina

• My Next Move – helps Veterans consider their next career move, including higher education. http://www.mynextmove.org/vets

• US Department of Veterans Affairs website resources on specific benefits associated with the GI Bill. The GI Bill offers 36 months of benefits that need to be taken within 15 years of discharge. Benefits can be used at any level of education, from Associate’s to Bachelors to Graduate degrees. http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/

• North Carolina Military Educational Positioning System – an online resource that provides active duty Service members and Veterans with the tools they need to explore North Carolina’s higher education options; navigate the college application, admission and enrollment process; and pursue career goals. http://ncmileps.northcarolina.edu/
