What do we expect

e-Navigation • approval Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) e-Navigation by IMO (late 2014) • start gradual implementation of e-Navigation services worldwide as from 2015 • e-Navigation is indicated to be supportive to the concepts SMTS and e-Maritime • no single solution for identified challenges, always in conjunction with other measures

(e.g. Marine Spatial Planning, extended VTS, Routing) North Sea Region • the establishment of regional collaboration on various levels on short notice is essential for

harmonized implementation of e-NAV • decisions have to be made, the consequences of the implementation of e-Navigation to be identified • a first set of e-Navigation services will be in place in 2020 to deal with foreseen challenges in the NSR • safety and accessibility levels maintained at least the same as at present

ACCSEAS • contributes to IMO/IALA developments, as well as to relevant EU programs • has an example function for Europe and other parts of the world • Contributes to future situational awareness in the NSR • delivers a number of promising potential services and tools that in future may contribute to

enhanced safety and accessibility in the region • generates future work on the further development and implementation of e-Nav after project ends

How to do it

• Continue e-Navigation awareness

• Disseminate ACCSEAS results for a broad audience

• As far as practicable: answers and indications to all open issues during ACCSEAS, the rest is part of future work

• Urge relevant national competent authorities to join forces (emphasize benefits)

• Involve all relevant stakeholders, specifically service providers and users, from the start

• Create a workable framework and level playing field for implementation e-Navigation and future work (define the scope!)

• Stay in line with IMO/IALA/EU developments, connect to other relevant programs

• Continue future collaboration (Forum) on the organizational and structural legacy of ACCSEAS
