Keep Areas Clean!

It is difficult to believe that the term is half way over!

A reminder that we are holding our Book Week parade on Tuesday, 10th September at 9:30am under the K-2 COLA. Everyone is welcome. We are looking forward to it as it is always a fun day.

You will be receiving a letter from your child’s teacher shortly, asking you to book a time to meet with them. It is time to have our second round of student led conferences where students have the opportunity to tell you about their pro-gress and what their goals are. Please make sure you participate as it is an extremely valuable ex-perience for students and can have a great influ-ence on their progress if it is done well.

We are still having students diagnosed with whooping cough so please be vigilant and if your child presents with a bad persistent cough, get it checked by a doctor. Remember too, that babies and elderly people are most vulnerable to this disease and in some cases, can die from it.

Also, where health is concerned, if your child has asthma they must have a health care plan and must bring their puffer to school. More people die from asthma attacks than anaphylaxis yet less care is taken to prevent it.

Our PBL spotlight this fortnight is Keep Areas Clean. You can en-courage this with your child by:

1. Giving them a responsibility to keep areas at home clean

2. Talking to them about why we need to keep areas clean and tidy

3. Discussing important environmental issues such as recycling

4. Setting a goal to improve something together as a family

Breakfast Club Expectations

Use your manners

Put your rubbish in the bin

Sit down to eat

Stay on the concrete area when eating and drinking

Wash up your bowls and cups

Only ask for what you are going to eat to avoid food wastage

Eat when you arrive to school

Please emphasise that going to the canteen and breakfast club is not a right, it is a privilege and

the people who come to serve them are volunteers who are not paid.

These are the behavioural ex-

pectations we have of every-

one who uses the breakfast

club. Students are explicitly

taught these expectations and

are expected to abide by

them.

Thank you KR for brightening up the office foyer with your lively cows,

jumping over the silvery moon!

We are always in need of volunteers to keep our canteen open, please contact canteen manager, Claire Price 0405 540 890 to

discuss any availability you may have to help out.

*This menu may change throughout the year to take advantage of seasonal fruit and vegetable, to add variety or to respond to the

season.
