TimBrandtisanupperelementaryschoolprincipalatCowetaPublicSchool’sMissionIntermediateGradeCenter.PriortogoingintoschooladministrationinCowetaheservedasinstrumentalmusicsupervisorforthirteenyearsandwasanassistantbanddirectorforfouryearsbeforethat.Mr.Brandtwasselectedasthe2006-2007CowetaSchools“DistrictTeacheroftheYear”.HetaughtatBlackwell&BoiseCity(Oklahoma)andWichitaCountyHighSchool(Kansas)beforecomingtoCoweta.Mr.BrandtreceivedhisBMEfromSouthwesternOklahomaStateUniversityin1979andhasaMaster’sDegreeinSchoolAdministrationfromNortheasternStateUniversity.HewasinductedintotheOklahomaMusicEducatorsAssociationHallofFame,hasservedasBandVice-PresidentfortheOklahomaMusicEducatorsAssociation,isapast-presidentoftheOklahomaBandmastersAssociation,pastpresidentoftheOklahomachapteroftheInternationalAssociationforJazzEducation,hasservedaschairmanfortheAll-OMEAJazzEnsemble,andisapastpresidentoftheEasternDistrictBandDirectorsAssociation.HecurrentlyservesasAssociateConductoroftheTulsa“StarlightBand”,hasperformedwiththe“TulsaBalletOrchestra”,andhasplayeddrumsinnumerousjazzgroupsinnortheastOklahoma.BandsunderhisdirectionwonnumerousOSSAASweepstakesandOutstandingAchievementAwards.In1997theCowetaBandwasawardedtheNationalBandAssociation’s“CitationofExcellence”.TheCowetaJazzEnsemblewasdeclaredtheoutstandingbandinitsclass6timesandwas1strunneruponanotheroccasion.TheCowetamarchingbandwasanOklahomaBandmastersAssociationChampionshipfinalist10outof12years,havingbeennamedclasschampionstwiceand1stand2ndrunner-upnumeroustimes.Concertbandsandjazzensemblesunderhisdirectionhavebeendeclared“outstandingband”atnumerousoutofstatefestivalsandcompetitions.

CethBarnettisagraduateUnionHighSchoolandOralRobertsUniversity.HereceivedhisBachelorsinMusicPerformancein2000.HeworkedasavisualtechnicianforUnionH.Sfrom1995until2005.CethhasbeenonthemarchingbandstaffatBrokenArrowHighSchoolsince2009.HewasamusicteacheratLincolnChristianSchoolsinTulsafrom2014-2016.Cethstillcontinuestowritedrill,Consultvisually,andprovideprivatelessonsontromboneandeuphoniumandhasbeenonthestafforprovidedvisualinstructionatBerryhillH.S.,CowetaH.S.,DelCityH.S.,BartlesvilleH.SandFossilRidgeHighSchoolinKeller,TX.InJulyof2017heopeneduphisownmusicstoreinTulsa,OkcalledBarnettMusicExchange.Theyofferafull-lineofmusicalinstrumentsandprovideprivatelessons.

CethisalsoanactiveprofessionaltrombonistintheTulsaarea.HeplayswithSignatureSymphony,TulsaStarlightBandandJazzBand,aswellasbeingthePepBandDirectoroftheOralRobertsUniversitywomen’sbasketballband.

Hehasbeenjudginglocallyandregionallyinthevisualcaptionsformarchingbandsforthepast10years.HehishappilymarriedtoAmyBarnett,andhastwodaughters,AllieandMacy,andacrazyGoldendoodlenamedCubbieRONLEWIS–VisualIndividualandVisualGeneralEffectRonLewisiscurrentlyworkingwiththeVanBuren,Arkansasinstrumentalmusicprogram,whereheteaches6ththrough12thgradestudents.RonhastaughtatSalina,Muldrow,McAlester,Bartlesville,andCollinsvilleinOklahomawherehisbandshaveconsistentlyplacedhighincompetitionandwonseveralcaptionawardsthroughouttheyears.RonisaveryactivejudgeandclinicianinbothmarchingandconcertandhasworkedinArkansas,Kansas,Missouri,Oklahoma,andTexas.Ron’swifeGina,isthecolorguardinstructorfortheVanBurenHighSchoolmarchingband,andhasworkedwithhimfor30years.

JAMESMORRISON–MusicGeneralEffectandMusicIndividualJamesMorrisoniscurrentlyanassistantdirectorintheBrokenArrowwhereheconductstheFreshmanAcademyWindEnsemble,ConcertBandandassistswiththeGrandNationalChampionPrideOfBrokenArrow.HewasdirectoratBerryhillSchoolsfor11yearswherethebandearnedmanyhonorsincluding9SweepstakesAwards,9OBAmarchingtitlesaswellasbeingafinalistandclasschampionattheBandsofAmericaSuperRegionalinSt.Louis.JamesistheformerInstructorofTubaatOklahomaStateUniversity,theUniversityofMissouri-KansasCityandtheUniversityofArkansas.

RICHARDWAGNER–MusicEnsembleandMusicGERichardWagneristheDirectorofInstrumentalEnsemblesandAssistantProfessorofMusicatTheUniversityofTulsa.Inthiscapacity,ProfessorWagnerconductstheTUSymphonyOrchestraandtheTUWindEnsemble,overseestheTUConcertandMarchingBandsandteachesclassesinconducting,instrumentation/orchestration,musiceducationandappliedFrenchhorn.From1994-2012,hewastheDirectorofInstrumentalMusicintheBixby(OK)PublicSchools.WhileatBixby,thebandreceivednumerousawardsinbothconcertandmarching,includingfiveOBAClass5AStateMarchingChampionshipsandfourstraight4A/5AGrandChampionshipsfrom2006-2009.HeholdsaBachelorofMusicdegreefromWichitaStateUniversityandhisMastersDegreefromNorthwesternUniversityinEvanston,IL.InadditiontohisworkatTU,Mr.Wagnerisactiveasaguestconductor,clinicianandadjudicatorandhasbeenaconductorwiththeTulsaYouthSymphonysince2002.

MIKESISCO–VisualGeneralEffectandVisualEnsembleMikeattainedhisBachelorofMusicEducationdegreefromOklahomaStateUniversity.HelatergraduatedwithhisMastersinTrumpetPerformancefromtheUniversityofNebraskaatOmaha.AfterworkingthreeyearsasaDirectorofBandsinIowa,Mr.SiscoacceptedthepositionasanassistantforfouryearsatUnionPublicSchoolsinTulsa,Oklahoma.DuringhistenureatUnion,hishighschoolandeighthgradebandsreceivedsuperiorratingsatalldistrictlevelcompetitions,superiorratingsatSkiatookConcertBandContest,andfourconsecutive"BestinClass"awardsfromthe"MusicintheParks"competitions.OtherdutiesincludedworkingwithaBandsofAmerica"GrandNationalFinalist"andRegionalChampionshipmarchingband,the"RenegadeRegiment.”BeforerelocatingtoTexas,Mr.SiscoalsoservedtwoyearsasthePresidentofthe"NortheasternOklahomaBandDirectorsAssociation.”Mr.SiscoservedforthreeyearsasthefirstAssociateDirectorofBandsatLewisvilleHighSchool.TheSymphonicWindshavereceivedconsecutivesuperiorratingsatall"UniversityInterscholasticLeague"events,earning(UIL)sweepstakeshonorseachyear.TheLewisvilleSymphonicWindswereprivilegedtoperformatthe2003BandsofAmericaConcertBandFestivalwhereMr.SiscowasawardedaCitationofExcellencefromtheNationalBandAssociation.Mr.SiscocompletedtwoyearsastheDirectorofBandsforCooperHighSchoolintheAbileneIndependentSchoolDistrict.Whileunderhisdirection,theAwesomeCooperMarchingBandreceivedsuperiorratingsatallUILRegion2marchingcompetitionsandwasafinalistbandinthe2003LewisvilleClassic.In2004thebandwasnamedGrandChampionsoftheLewisvilleClassicwinning12outof131stplaceawards.UnderMike’ssupervision,allthreecompetitiveconcertgroupswereawardedthesweepstakesawardforthefirsttimeinthe

historyoftheschool.Mr.Siscothenwashonoredbythe2005Who’sWhoAmongAmerica’sTeachers.WhileinAbileneMr.SiscowasalsotheAdjunctTrumpetProfessorforMcMurryUniversity.Mr.SiscowastheDirectorofBandsatMabankISD,wherethePantherBandwasawardedtheBandsofAmericaArlingtonRegionalClassAChampionssweepingallcaptionawards.ThebandalsofinishedRunnerUpClassAattheBOASuperRegionalinSanAntoniowinningthemusiccaption.HisensemblesreceivedSuperiorRatingsatUILandDCFestivalevents.ThebandwasawardedbestinclassattheDCFestivaloftheOzarksheldinBranson.Mr.SiscomostrecentpositionwastheDirectorofBandsatFossilRidgeHighSchoolfrom2006-2012.UnderMike'sdirectionthePantherRegimenthasperformedatthe5AAreaContestandreceived1stplaceinprelimsin2008.ThebandalsoadvancedtotheTexasStateMarchingBandContestbyplacinginthetopthreeattheAreaFinalsperformancethatsameyear.ThePantherRegimentalsoadvancedtotheTexasStateMarchingBandContestin2007.HisbandswereconsistentUILSweepstakeswinners,andhavebeenawardedtheBestinClass/BestOverallBandattheMusicoftheOzarkscontestheldinBransonMissouriin2010.Thebandprogramgrewfrom138membersto220membersoverthedurationofhisappointmentatFossilRidge.Mr.SiscoiscurrentlyservingastheDirectorofBandsatTulsaSchoolofArtsandSciences.Hisdutiesinclude,butarenotlimitedto,directingthe2bands,3jazzcombosandAPmusictheoryclassalongwithalladministrativefunctionsoftheoverallorganization.Mr.SiscoismarriedtoCathySiscowhowasaKindergartenTeacheratBluebonnetElementarySchoolinKellerISDandadanceinstructoroftheNorthTexasDanceAcademy.TheyhavelivedinKellerTexasfor7yearsandhavethreesonsJoshua,JacobandJoey.

ADJUDICATORS’CRITERIASixadjudicatorsareevaluatingtheparticipatingbands.Theywillwatchandlistencarefullyformusicandmarchingexecution.Eachadjudicatorisresponsibleforaspecificareaofperformance.Therearethreecategoriesthatwilldeterminethefinalscore;theyaremusicperformance,visualperformanceandgeneraleffect.Musicperformanceinvolvesthreeadjudicators,andtheirscorescomprisethemajorityoftheoverallscore.Scoresareprimarilydeterminedbyhowwellthemusicisperformedforaccuracyandcorrectness.Musicgeneraleffectishowwellthemusicisperceivedbytheaudienceandisenhancedbytheoverallshowdevelopment.Oneadjudicatorisresponsibleforindividualmusicperformancefromeachmemberoftheband.Hisjobistodetermineifeachpersonisplayingtheirpartcorrectlywithgoodplayingpositionandgoodtone,blendandbalance.Visualperformancealsoinvolvesthreeadjudicators.Twoareprimarilyobservingtheoverallmovementoftheensemble,designanddrillanditseffectivenesswiththemusic,andintegrationoftheguardandmusiciansinonevisualpresentation.Oneadjudicatorisevaluatingindividualmarchersforposture,marchingstyleandaccuracyofmovementinvarioussectionsoftheensemble.Consistencyofmarchingstyleandmovementforeachindividualinthegroupisveryimportant.Generaleffectisthecombinationofallelementsoftheshowpresentation.Generaleffect(GE)adjudicatorsevaluateifthemusicanddrillworktogethertoproduceaqualityshow.Istheoveralldesignpresentedinaformatthatiseasilyunderstoodandcomprehendedbytheaudience?Doestheshowexhibitdirectionthatkeepsinterestintheoverallproduction?Scoring 20points MusicPerformance(Individual)
