Standard First Aid16HRSStandard First Aid with CPR-C provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid. In-depth topics include head/spinal injuries, bone breaks, heart attack, stroke, burns, and other medical and environmental emergencies.
NL Pool Option44HRS The National Lifeguard Pool certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by lifeguards. The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments.
NL Waterpark Option24HRS The National Lifeguard Waterpark certification is designed to develop the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in waterpark environments. It builds on the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness developed in the NL Pool certification.
NL Waterfront Option8HRSThe National Lifeguard Waterfront certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness required by waterfront lifeguards. The NL Waterfront course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervsion in waterfront environments
Bronze Medallion20HRS Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skills and fitness. Rescuers learn advanced lifesaving techniques for challenging rescues of increased risk, involving conscious and unconscious victims in varying water depths. Participants develop stroke efficiency and endurance in timed swims (500 metres). Includes CPR-A.
Bronze Cross20HRS Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced lifesaving training and an introduction to safety supervision. Candidates develop proficiency at performing patient assessments, managing aquatic spinal injuries, and preventing the loss of life in a variety of aquatic emergencies, while developing stroke endurance (includes a 600m timed swim) and fitness training skills. Includes CPR-C Bronze Cross is also worth 2 Grade 11 High School Credits.
CPR ‘C’ with AED6HrsBe prepared to save a life! Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) level C trains rescuers in the skills and knowledge needed to assess and provide life support to patients with airway, breathing, or circulatory emergencies. Knowing how to activate emergency medical services (EMS), perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and use an automated external defibrillator(AED) are critical lifesaving skills that everyone should have. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation level C with automated external defibrillator teaches the skills needed to help adults, children and infants.
Water Safety Instructor Component 14HRS The Water Safety (WSI) Program prepares you to instruct Red Cross swim lessons. The full course will evaluate strokes and skills equivalent to Red Cross Swim Kids 10. Guides participants through the online portion of the course. Included is the 10 hours teaching experience and in-class sessions. The participant will develop the skills and gain the teaching tools to become a swim instructor.
Water Safety Instructor Component 2 24HRS Water Safety Instructor course is designed to build on the previous knowledge learned in the WSI Component 2 course and introduce candidates to the specific programs that they will be teaching. Course instruction will include lesson planning, effective evaluation and Swim Preschool, Swim Kids and Teens/Adults programs.
High Five: Principles of Healthy Child Development8HRS HIGH FIVE® system is based on years of research and consultation with experts, and is the only quality assurance standard in North America designed to specifically support the safety, well-being and healthy development of children in sport and recreation programs.Learn ways to make positive child-centred interactions, and effective, age-appropriate ways to address behaviour challenges. Consisting of training, resources and tools.
High Five: Strengthening Children’s Mental Health 6HRSThe HIGH FIVE® Strengthening Children’s Mental Health (SCMH) program is a one-day in-person training for recreation leaders, developed in collaboration with Ontario’s Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). The program is intended for municipal staff and supervisors offering children’s programs to be better informed about providing early intervention for children’s mental health.
Education Assistant AssessmentThis is designed for School District employees working with children with special needs. A quick swimming evaluation that includes an entry into the water, a 50 metre swim (two lengths of the pool), treading water or basic surface support and review of basic reaching assists. A certificate is included once the candidate has successfully completed this 15 minute session.

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a current and valid Class 7 (with an ‘N’) or Class 5 license.

In cases of extended illness or injury a prorated refund or credit may be granted upon provision of a medical note. Classes missed due to sickness, vacation, or other reasons will not be refunded or credited.
