Founded in 1957, North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is an independent, coed, non-

sectarian, Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade, college preparatory, day and boarding institu-

tion. The NBPS community is remarkably diverse with day & residential students from over

28 countries. NBPS’s strong college preparatory academic programs are complemented by

enrichment offerings in theater arts, music, visual and graphic arts, computer science, STEAM

and other subjects. NBPS provides students with a global perspective as a function of its mem-

bership in Nord Anglia Education and an International Baccalaureate World School.

The region has more than 20 miles of award-winning

palm-fringed, golden-sand beaches and more than 300

miles of inland waterways.

Ft. Lauderdale is known as the “Venice of America,” for

its extensive waterways including the New River, Intra-

coastal Waterway and large number of canals. South Florida is home to three professional sports

teams including the NFL’s Miami Dolphins; NBA’s Miami Heat; and NHL’s Florida Panthers in

flea markets, and Sawgrass Mills Mall, Florida's largest outlet mall. The area has a number of

museums, art galleries, theaters, and entertainment centers including Metrozoo, Bass Museum,

Vizcaya Museum, Museum of Science & Space Transit Plantetarium, Lion Country Safari

and Norton Museum of Art. An international destination that includes major art, music, and cultur-

al festival.
