North Bay, Ontario, Canada is home to a mining cluster of more than 60 businesses that

provide mining exploration and development services. These services include engineering,

fabrication, machinery and equipment manufacturing for the global mining industry. North

Bay is proud to be the home of over a half dozen multinational Canadian headquarters.

The 2010 Northern Ontario Mining Service & Supply Study revealed sector revenues of the

Northern Ontario Mining Supply and Services Sector at a projected $5.6 billion, with more

than 23,000 employed. Of that projection, North Bays allocation accounts for $770 million

with 2,990 employed.

Locally, the Mining, Service & Supply Industry has expertise in the areas of:

- Mining exploration and development, design build, and mine operating

services

- Fabricated metal machinery and equipment, including both track and LHD

- Fabricated rubber, plastics and chemical products for mining

- Wholesale equipment and supplies for mining

- Business services for mining including engineering and geo-technical

New and existing companies are eligible forgenerous financial support in our region,

from all three levels of government.

Incentives include wage subsidies, research

and development grants, incentive term

loans/grants and equity instruments to

finance capital projects.

The Mining Supply & Services Export Assistance

Program was created to assist companies in

Northern Ontario expand into domestic and

international markets. The program provides

assistance in the areas of:

- Export readiness assessment

- Customized export strategy development

- In-market mentorship

- Market research and intelligence gathering

- Export Marketing - companies can seekfunding up to $10,000 to assist in covering

costs of developing new international and

domestic markets outside of Northern

Ontario

North Bay is historically considered the

"Gateway to the North" and is a 3.5 hour drive

from both Toronto and Ottawa. The City is

ideally situated at the crossroads of trans-

continental highways, railways, air, and fibre-

optic routes, providing a link to the north, south,

east and west for transportation and

communication activities. These excellent

connections to other markets ensure the rapid

and economical transportation of people,

products and raw materials.

We are a key part of Canadas mining triangle

with counterpoints, the Sudbury basin and

Timmins, Ontario. North Bay is also located in

close proximity to northwestern Quebec and

within a days drive of the James Bay Lowlands

(the Ring of Fire).
