2017 Keynote Speaker

CHIEF KENNETH DESIMONE

Chief Kenneth DeSimone currently serves as Chief of the Sandy Springs Police Department and director

of public safety, a position that he has held since 2013. Chief DeSimone had previously served as Deputy

Chief of the Sandy Springs Police Department and with other civilian police forces. A 32 year veteran of

the United States Marine Corp, having retired at the rank of Colonel, Chief DeSimone is a veteran of both

the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He has served as the Multi-National Forces-West coordinator for the

Ministry of Interior Department of Border Enforcement, Iraqi Border Police, in the Anbar and Najaf

Provinces, as Officer in Charge of the Second Marine Division Provincial Police Advisor Team, and

advisor to the Helmand Province Afghanistan Chief of Police. His experience includes service with police

and military forces in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
