Launch of the Age Action Alliance 30 September 2011

• National initiative to energize organisations to improve older people’s lives
• Free for any organisation to join
• Independent partnership of over 260 cross sector organisations
• Secretariat support by Age UK and DWP
How will the Alliance work?
• Focus on socially excluded and most vulnerable
• Commitment to ensuring older people at heart of Alliance
• Working in partnership, building on what works, sharing good practice
• Unique network: a ‘dating agency’ for practical action

• Meets one or more areas of focus of the Alliance• Tried and tested• Shown to be user friendly and accessed by local
people • Ability to scale up programme

• Run by volunteers who receive training • Supports older people with a series of national
