there are several reasons why the business chose to establish a factory in skagen in 2001. one of the reasons is that we have the expertise here in skagen when it comes to marinating herring in such a way that they are popular at the european markets. Another reason is that in skagen we have such trained workers who are used to work with souring and marinating and moreover there were suitable and vacant premises.

We chose to relocate the production from engelsviken, norway, to skagen 12-13 years ago. We had to move to an eu country to avoid the expensive duties and thus maintain our competitiveness. At the same time we have gained easy access to the large european market. From the very beginning we experienced a fantastic goodwill from the municipality as they soon re-adjusted a site so we could build our factory. it means a lot that the local society supports fishery. the Port of skagen is an active port with development and a great blossoming of the industry has taken place since we came to the port.
