For the past 20 years I have worked as a social worker primarily in the area of support to whānau to care for their tamariki and rangatahi. I have held various managerial positions in this field including Branch Director, Regional trainer and National Manager.
I am a registered social worker with a degree in Social work (Biculturalism in Practice) and have served on various panels including School Board of Trustees Lottery Youth and NZQA.
I am currently employed by Te Whare Kaupapa Āwhina/Open Home Foundation as Kaitohu ā Kaupapa being responsible for the agency’s communications, social work training and kaupapa Māori service development.
For the past 3 years I have been part of the leadership of Te Roopu Raranga o Manaia ( at Hikoikoi), a whānau based collective committed to sharing traditional raranga skills.
My passion is to promote whānau mauri ora /wellbeing that comes from a strong sense of identity and belonging, whakarangatiratanga /self-determination through education and employment and above all assist whānau to ensure ahurutanga/safety for all our tamariki within our own waka.

I am a registered early childhood teacher working for the Wellington Region Free Kindergarten Association as their Kaitiaki o Kaupapa Māori. The skills that I bring to the trust are transparency, accountability and within business I do believe you can make wairua decisions which are made for the betterment and sustainability of our mokopuna.
I am passionate about working with children and the kaiako that teach our children and am involved within our community in Wainuiomata and the wider Wellington rohe.
The reason I am standing yet again is I am still not satisfied with the direction and decisions that are being made on our behalf.

My company supports young Maori designers through an intern programme to ensure that Maori graduates have increased opportunity in today’s world. We do a lot of pro-bono work in the community – from sports to the arts, to a three day Maori festival showcasing traditional & contemporary culture. We provided the brand for the recent visit by HRH Prince Charles to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

Candidate statement: I am in the business of communicating information in a way that everyone understands. We will be stronger if we share our kaupapa, everyone should know what is happening in the changing Maori economy – the awakening giant. Port Nicholson can affect its message by more newsletters, better social media (yes facebook). Last year I brought our maunga back to the TRFU rugby jersey (alternative strip) - through good communication we can bring the maunga back our culture across the board.
As a guardian for future generations I will support and collaborate and look forward to a positive future.

I seek your support to serve as a trustee on our PNBS Trust. Events surrounding the trust over recent years have raised considerable concerns. These concerns, coupled with my passion to make a positive contribution to our people have inspired me to stand in this election.
I come with 14 years governance experience, as a trustee of the New Zealand Railways Staff Welfare Trust and 2 years on the Management Committee of the Rail and Maritime Transport Union. I am also a member on the NZCTU PTE Governance Group. I have 2 adult children and work at KiwiRail as a telecommunications team leader, based in Wellington.

He has advised on West Wind and Mill Creek (Meridian Energy - Wellington), HMR, Contact Wind in Waikato, and NZTA roading projects, Basin Bridge and Tunnel Duplication, and War Memorial Park in Wellington and other projects.
Morrie is a past Chairman of the Te Wai Maori Trust, on fresh water fisheries of TOKM, and the Waste Advisory Board. Trustee of the NZ Film Archive and President of its Convocation. He was Director of the Waitangi Tribunal, as well as in Ministry for the Environment and Manatū Māori.
Morrie is Chairman of Wellington Tenths Trust. He is also a Trustees of Te Atiawa (Wellington) fisheries Trust and is a director of Atiawa Nui Tonu Fisheries Limited.
Morrie is married with four children and six mokopuna.

My Name is Mark Te One, I was born in New Plymouth and grew up at Waiwhetu. I am of Te Atiawa, Ngati Mutunga, Taranaki, Ngati Ruanui and Ngati Wehiwehi descent.
For more than 20 years I have been part of iwi development in the rohe of Taranaki whanui in Wellington and Hutt Valley.
During this time I have been elected to Trustee positions on the Wellington Tenths Trust, Palmerston North Maori Reserve and the Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust.
I also have other responsibilities associated with maintaining mana whenua in our rohe. This includes being on the paepae at marae and organising, participating in Taranaki whanui hui and occasions. I believe there is much more to be done in these areas with our people leading in their own right. My other positions include, Chairperson of the Archives NZ Maori Consultative Committee, Member of the Matiu Somes Charitable Trust and Member and past Chairman of the Aratahi Inter-Iwi Committee of the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
Sarah and I have three children, one is a plumber, another works in a bank and my youngest Miriama will be in Nepal, volunteering in schools.
