The World’s Greatest Geological Wonders Mondays January 9-Febraury 27, 1-2:15 Tour Earth’s great diversity and beauty in this awe-inspiring course that visits the most amazing natural wonders in the world and explains the geology that underlies them. We will explore Mammoth Caves, Grand Canyon, Antarctica, Himalayas and the Rock of Gibraltar. This is a technical class that explains in detail what has shaped these wonders. Paratransit • Wednesday, February 8, 10-11:30 A representative of the Paratransit/CAT Bus will be on-site to answer your busing questions or help you apply for the bus services. Empty Bowl Painting Party • Tuesday, February 28 Let your creativity out as we turn plain ceramic bowls into a work of art. Stay Well-Chair Exercise • Mondays, 12-12:45 This Instructor led class begins with 15 minutes of movement to music to increase your heart rate and then we concentrate on strength especially the posterior muscles. Bring two (2) light hand weights. Please wear comfortable clothing and good supportive athletic shoes. Water Color Painting-Self Directed • Tuesdays, 9:45-11:45 Come join other members who enjoy Water Color Painting. Bring your current project and socialize with other water color painters. Spanish • Tuesdays, 10-11 We are using the Great Courses, Learning Spanish: How to Understand and Speak a New Language. Gardening Group • Thursdays, 10-11:30 Members get together to socialize while engaging in activities that are linked to gardening. This month we explore building your garden foundation, starting plants from seeds, food harvesting tips and a field trip to the Botanical Gardens. Please make sure you preregister by Tuesday so that we have supplies for everyone in attendance. Bone Builders • Thursdays, 12:00-1:00 This is an instructor led chair strength exercise class that helps improve strength and osteoporosis. Recommend that participants bring 2-small hand weights. Our volunteers will be on hand to help you navigate your device and teach you a few tricks. If you have thought about writing but do not know where to start, this class is for you. Understandably, some are nervous about privacy and security, having performed these tasks "manually" for most of our lives. We will discuss the idea and mechanics of shopping and banking over the internet, and explore how to safely and securely pay bills and shop on-line. Please bring your own tablet or laptop, if possible, and come prepared with questions and experiences!
