Eligibility or Board Candidacy
> Be an RCC member in good standing, who is eligible to vote in the December 16, 2013,election.
> Be at least 16 years old at the time o the election.
> Formally submit your name or nomination. > Be willing to serve a three-year term on the board, ullling all the duties o board service.
Individual Board Member Job Description
> Be committed to the success o the Renaissance Community Cooperative.
> Attend a three-hour board meeting once a month.
> Attend one to two committee meetings each month.
> Communicate by email regarding RCC business on a regular basis (roughly once or twicea week).
> Prepare or board meetings as needed, including reading reports and correspondence.
> Attend the annual meeting o the coop.
> Participate in board orientation and periodic training.
> Participate in an annual day-long board retreat, to be scheduled by the board.
> From time to time, represent the RCC at community events.
> Be willing to consider taking on an ocer position that has additional time requirements.
> Be aware o and strive to deepen understanding o the coop principles (http:// renaissancecoop.com/about/cooperative-identity-values-principles/ ).

Be willing to work cooperatively with other board members, staf, and members toachieve an efective balance between nancial success, equitable and sustainable businesspractices, and democratic community ownership.
Skills and Attributes Needed on the Board (Not every board member has to have all theseprofciencies, but we need these skills and attributes to be represented on the board as a whole.)
> Deep roots in the community immediately surrounding the coop
> Connections across the City o Greensboro
> Knowledge o the RCC rom its earliest days
> Sense o where the RCC can and should get to as it moves orward
> Belie in and knowledge about community ownership models
> Ability to teach and ability to learn
> Certain kinds o expertise/experience, including:
> Legal >Grocery >Cooperative business >Meeting acilitation
>Accounting >Retail >Community organizing >Democratic governance
> Finance >Marketing >Grassroots undraising > Publicity
