    Executive Board

    Elect 2 Clergy and 4 Lay for a 3-year term.

    Description of duties:Te Executive Board is requiredto meet two times a year, but usually meets more ofen.

    Te board unctions in a way similar to a parish vestry,including preparing the diocesan budget and submit-ting it to Council or approval. Te Executive Boardappoints several departments and committees, in-cluding the Finance Department and the NominatingCommittee. Te Executive Board approves the desig-nations regarding the World Mission unding opportu-nities (line 1b). Members o the Executive Board serveas liaisons to the various departments and commis-sions o the diocese. A knowledge o (and experience

    in) ministries representing the breadth o the diocese isan asset to persons who serve on the Executive Board.At the same time, a willingness to engage in diocesanministry and learn o the breadth o the diocese is themost basic requirement or service on the ExecutiveBoard.

    Standing Committee

    Elect 1 Cleric and 1 Lay for a 3-year term.

    Description of duties:Te Standing Committee meetsabout three times a year and serves as a Council oadvice to the diocesan bishop. Among its responsibili-ties are granting or withholding consents to the electiono bishops throughout the Episcopal Church and inter-viewing seminarians and recommending to the bishopwhether or not they be made candidates or ordination.Te Standing Committee is composed o six persons:three clergy and three lay.
